Is it worth staying on AM4 with a $3k budget, or is it time for AM5?

Hey guys, looking for some build direction. I have $3,000 USD set aside for a major performance upgrade. I mostly play modern games and want to push high refresh rates/settings, but I'm struggling with the classic dilemma: max out the AM4 platform or jump ship to AM5?

My current system:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
  • Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 Digital
  • GPU: GeForce RTX 3060 12GB
  • Mobo: MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI
  • RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) T-Force DDR4 3200MHz
  • Storage: 1TB Kingston NV2 NVMe
  • PSU: Generic Non-Modular
  • Case: DeepCool CH160 Plus
