What finally helped you heal?

I, like many of us, have been dealing with this fear for as long as I can remember. I’m currently in therapy right now and slowly climbing the exposure ladder. But I still have so many moments where I feel stuck. Especially when I’m exposed to things against my will and feel knocked back.

Climbing the ladder is all fun and games until I suddenly get hit with a wave of nausea that I’m totally not ready for lol.

So, I’m wondering what finally helped take the edge off. I’m currently not medicated in any way, but thinking about booking an appointment with my doctor to have a discussion and want to be prepared. Was there any specific anxiety medications? Does having a Zofran prescription help? Or do you feel like it just adds to the avoidance cycle?

Also, are there any daily habits that help? Right now I’m at the stage where I’m just getting comfortable with exposures in movies. But sometimes I still just want to skip them because I don’t want to deal with it in my day if I’m already stressed.
