My car. Broken into and stripped while left with a mechanic.
My car was left with an Australian wide tyre and auto group. A 2009 Holden commodore I bought brand new back in the day. It was broken into and stripped while left in the car park. All four wheels, the back door trim and window, the exhaust system and other items were taken. Initially the store attempted to pass the responsibility of repairs on to me. I refused - given they had left the car in a carpark overnight without adequate security. I requested no further work be done on the car until an agreement was reached regarding the repair work to be done and an agreement over the payment of a hire car while work was being done. These requests were made in writing. While the tyre and auto group agreed to repair the car, they went ahead and did the work against written instructions. The replacement parts are in poor condition and the back door trim is from a completely different model. I am left paying $$$ for a hire car while this goes around in circles and I am struggling to find a solicitor who will assist.
