Hey there, I’m looking for advice to get enlisted as a 15T/15D. I went to my local recruiter in MN and he pulled up an email stating the “only open MOS’s”. Which included infantry, medic, refueler, 18x, and another one I can’t remember. Told him I’m sold on being a helicopter mechanic as I’ve wanted to work towards the 160th for a few years.

Him aswell as a few others in the office stated my only path forward to get into tango/delta MOS was by putting in 2.5 years first, then attempting to switch. Is this something factual or just another recruiter shooting for a quota? Is there anything I can do to join as a 15? Thank you.

Also would appreciate any 15’s in the 160th giving me pointers.
