Why didn't Stalin - or later Soviet leaders - bring back the Comintern after the war?
It makes sense why it was dissolved during the war, I mean the hordes are at the gate, you make a deal with the devil to survive another day; But why in the near 50 years after the war - and most notably in the window where the USSR was a nuclear power & the Sino-Soviet split hadn't occurred - didn't the USSR go "Hey, guess what? We're getting the band back together" ?
Side note: I am aware that the Cominform and the Comecon were a thing, but AFAIK these organizations existed less for the communist movement worldwide, and more for the existing ML states within the USSR.
