NYPD to Port Authority Police
I’m at a crossroads and I wanted some opinions.
I have 7 years with NYPD and I’m thinking of transferring to PAPD. I bought back 3 years of military time which will let me retire in 10 years. I know QOL is better in PAPD but I have 2 small children and that 46k starting salary has me worried. Not to mention the 10 years it takes to get to top pay which is the same time I need to retire from NYPD. Do you think it is worth transferring?
