[Welcome back ladies and lads and other pals! How are ya doin? hope you are doin well and ty JCB for makin this amazing universe! Anyway let's get into this chapter!]

LO: Below the UTSTS PROMETHEUS's stern, 12 miles away from the Academy, Time: 8:45 PM Day: March 23rd Thursday 2590 AD

Combat droid A20 ‘Iron hu- error new objective.

Scout droid A11 ‘Man in the woods’:

-NEW OBJECTIVE-

Scouting, recon, collecting native foliage, and field research.

CODE C11: Turn off non-essential weapon systems and turn most power to scanning and sensors.

-AFFIRMATIVE-

‘Opening droid pod now’….

The outer front armor of the pod slowly detached from the walls of the pod, slamming down onto the grassy ground in front of it.

The sound of hydraulics adjusting and armor plating clanking together as they shifted and relaxed, then the sound of metal lightly scraping against metal was heard from the pod.

Slowly a hulking skeletal droid came out of the pod, it's bulky frame seemingly adjusting as it's armor plates shifted down it's heavy arms.

The droid's metal humanoid feet softly walked down the pod's front armor before stopping at the end of it.

Soft whirling could be heard from it's hull grade plated spine as the short tri-barrel gauss gun on it's shoulder was lowered to it's lower back, the sounds of motors and gears grinding was heard from the chest plating of the droid as the plates shifted underneath each other.

From it's triangled head came a medium size light that briefly flashed the colors of blue, yellow, and red before turning to a neutral glowing grey.

Slowly the droid moved it's head side to side as it scanned it's surroundings, in front of it were multiple other pods which were already open.

Multiple of it's kind marched in unison to a mostly flat field that was surrounded by thick walls, like a well oiled gear.

The sound of powerful hydraulics fill the camp and field as they march towards the field.

After a few minutes the droid entered the debris filled field, it then stopped for a moment to look at it's sisters and brothers.

Each one started to fill a small grid in the field as they lined up in a square formation.

The droid then hastily followed it’s factory new brethren as it quickly found a place in the formation and snuck in with a soft sound of metal rubbing against metal.

20 droids silently stood still, all of them ready for their mission as the sounds of motors filled the field and surroundings.

Each equipped with enough firepower to take over a large town.

But that was not their mission now, their mission was surveillance, recon, and fauna collection.

And as they all stood steadfast fast ready for orders, all at once they turned their camo on.

One after one, droid after droid they became nearly invisible to the Terran or Nexian eye.

At the front of the field was a massive gate blocking the way. Slowly it began to open wide but before it could finish the droids vanished.

Their signatures moving faster than a speeding bullet.

Each droid separates from the grid into separate squadrons, 1 going deep into the forest for collecting organic samples, 2 scavenging and scanning the fields for exposed ores and parts that broke off the ship.

Each had their own different ways of collecting samples, squadron 1 had small to large containers dotting their back for collecting both complex fauna and DNA extraction because of this they were the quickest squadron.

2 had mining grade scanners as well as small scale mining equipment, on their back was a magnetic pack that forced magnetic ores to clump up, but for non magnetic ores they had a large tube connected below the magnetic pack for non magnetic ores this however made them the slowest.

After a few hours of scans, sample acquisition, and stuffing deer into capsules too small. One of the droids in squadron 2 acquired something unknown, at first it seemed like a piece of the ship. But after a few deeper scans it found out the metal was a mix of uncompounds and containing a high amount of code name ‘hyper beta’ radiation in the lower part of the metal.

As it's scanner lowered it saw a gleaming gemstone, without a second reaction it placed the metal object in it's tube on it's lower back before simply running off in the direction of it’s comrades.

A droid from squadron one while running to another grid for sample collection stopped by something peculiar, it's scanners scanned over a natural dirt trail..

But upon further scanning.. it was not natural, there were odd tracks in the soil, in curiosity the droid decided to follow the trail.

After about a quarter hour it ended up at a strange site… upon arriving it saw something that should be impossible..

It's head clicked to the left and right as if trying to figure out what it was seeing, the structures in front of it were not natural..

On the horizon were many structures and new sounds it had not heard before… The place from the droid's internal database had many similarities to old Terran structures.

Buildings made of brick tightly compacted together in many rows, a rock street connecting to the trail.

Another detail it had noticed was… Terrans? That code and the inconsistency was boggling to it, it curiously walked forward into the place.

As it got closer it saw more of them, overalls, simple tunics and other old Terran outfits dotted the Terrans…

Upon focusing it’s lens.. it noticed peculiar mutations.. long ears, odd facial structures that were not even seen in gene mods.

Another thing it saw was… animals standing upright? It stopped for a moment as this confused it.. it didn't know how to react nor what to do..

So it did the only thing it could do, it first stood still as a long antenna extended from it's back as it's front light turned a color off as it was now on standby.

‘Reporting to UTSTS PROMETHEUS… Unknown structures..”

LO: Droid compartment and overseeing room on the UTSTS PROMETHEUS, 12 miles away from the Academy, Time: 9:31 PM Day: March 23rd Thursday 2590 AD

Mzult Alcomary:

“Yawwwn.. Watching over these droids is hell.. least it's somewhat entertaining” I said to myself as my eyes wandered to the trash can next to my bionic leg, it was filled to the brim with Star type energy drinks..

‘Yeesh maybe I drank too ma-’ before I could even finish thinking a bright light blinked on the holoscreen in front of me as my eyes snapped towards the screen.

“The hell? Why is one of the droids reporting already? It hasn't even been a few hours yet” I'd say in confusion as I press the droid reports section on the screen.

Immediately one report came up, under it read ‘Unknown structures of non Terran make.’ That made my eyes open up..

‘Maybe one of the mining drones-’ that thought however, was cut short as I noticed it was from a foliage droid..

Immediately I clicked on the report and listened to it. After about 25 minutes, nothing was really happening besides collecting..

But towards the end of the report my heart skipped a beat… it was a dirt trail.. common on greenery worlds or non fully developed colonies..

Still it could have been animals that paved it over time.. as the report played I suddenly noticed something..

Immediately, I paused the report and skipped back a few seconds when the droid was scanning the trail..

Along it I could see a few stumps along the side of the trail.. but I didn't see any trees knocked down and the stumps were way too clean cut..

Curiously, I then skipped a few seconds ahead. In the trail itself, I could see a few tracks, most looked like ones you would see from an animal..

But close up to the middle of the trail were two sets of lines across from each other, both in the same length and width.

Both went the same way as if something drove on this trail.

‘What the actual fuck? That's not a natural phenomenon.. Unless some.. Who am I kidding? This might be evidence of a civilization.. or..’ I thought to myself as I began to grasp at straws..

Quickly I unpaused the report as I intensely focused on the screen.

“Hey Miz? You okay man?” I heard from behind me as I felt a cold metallic hand on my left shoulder.

Almost immediately, I jolted up a little before turning around and looking at who touched me.

“Jeeez man you nearly gave me a heart attack!” I'd say to him with a sigh.

“Sorry man, you look like you've seen an Unbidden! Are you all right?” My friend Jex asked as his visor turned a hue of gray.

“Y-yeah I'm okay man.. I'm looking over a report’ I'd say to him as he then tilted his head and sat at an adjacent seat.

“Already? That was fast- he'd say as he looked over to the report still playing.

“The hell?” He then said as his visor turned white.

Curiously, I then spun back around and what I saw made my eyes light up…

Structures.. not natural ones.. actual structures made of what seemed to be brick.. Metal frames as some sort of scaffolding.

“Are… you seeing this?” I heard Jax say as I then stopped the report and looked at it closer…

The report was saying that it was detecting a Terran presence… but that couldn't be right, from what happened to the Terrans that were outside the ship’s field should be dead because..

Terran originated-life could not survive the radiation……..

The realization then hit me like a train… Advanced organic life.. But.. we have never seen any advanced organic life… only simple and complex incapable of intelligence..

Quickly I focused on the background before then enhancing the image, I could see humanoids..

Some had long elf-like ears and others looked like straight up dogs or even damn fish!

“Jax?” I then said to him as his visor was in the middle of changing colors. He seemed to be in a state in disbelief and his hands were shaking.

“Y-yeah?’ he’d say nervously as I hear some bits of his synthetic voice cracking…

“Get a hold of the Captain and the science division now, I’ll tell the droid to keep going!” I'd say to him as he quickly ran over to the end of the room by the holocom the sound of metal feet filling the room.

Hastily I exited out of the report and navigated to the command icon, as I opened it up I clicked on the command HUD and typed in Beta 2.

Almost immediately I was met with a list of commands and a selection of droids, hastily I scrolled down the many droids before ending up at the droid that submitted the report.

I then clicked on the droid and activated the surveillance mode before being met with a short loading screen and then was met with what the droid was seeing as it began to walk deeper into the collection of tight structures.

A few of the structures were nearly ready to topple over, their walls caved in and windows completely shattered.

The road was heavily damaged, rocks everywhere and even cracks in the rocks themselves.

As the droid moved farther from the beginning of the street the damage became less and less severe, though broken windows were still common.

I could see some of the humanoids doing their best to rebuild…

Some others were simply sitting on rubble of what remained of their home, many of them were wearing damaged and ripped overalls and tunics that were ripped up to the point of almost being rags.

Another detail I had noticed was some of the humanoids were walking up and down the street wearing bright clothing with metal armor on top, as well as brandishing primitive looking weapons.

As the droid kept going deeper into the winding street I saw another one of the humanoids except they were sitting on the ground begging to the armored humanoids.

My heart sank as I realized why they were begging as I saw a smaller humanoid next to them…

As what I presume to be the mother tried to touch the armored one, his face contorted with disgust as he waved his hand to cover over her face as almost immediately like there was some sort of invisible force she was then pushed hard onto her back.

Confusion filled my face at first but was then replaced by anger as my nails dug into my left hand.

‘How in the hell could someone see a person begging like that and not help!?’ I thought to myself before sighing as I kept watching though the droid's eye.

The mother looked back at the armored one, he didn't even look back at her as if she wasn't worth his time..

I was just about to punch the monitor out of anger from that alone. I didn't understand how someone could be so unsympathetic.

The droid kept walking deeper but as it went further in the more armored guards there were, suddenly an idea popped up in my head as from the corner of the screen I could see an alleyway.

Quickly I punched a command into the HUD as the machine in a near millisecond ran into the alley.

It was pretty dark and filled with trash and pieces of debris, luckily it was enough so no one could see the droid.

The droid then slowly scanned it's surroundings as it got multiple unknown DNA signatures, from it's view I could see the end of the alley.

My focus was then ripped away as I heard the sound of metal feet clanking against the floor, quickly I turned back to see my friend Jex with his hand rubbing the back of his circular head.

“T-they will be here in a few minutes, the Captain said to keep an eye o-on what's happening.” He'd say nervous as his visor switched colors.

“What else happened while I was on the holo Miz?” he then asked with a more curious but still nervous tone as he sat down next to me.

“From what I could gather, they seem to be a sort of early Victorian era tech. And from the scanners themselves there is a high level of hyper beta radiation in some areas… Another thing I noticed was the guards patrolling the streets-” I say as I suddenly pause for a moment, thinking if I should mention that unknown force..

I decided not to as it could have been just a hallucination from caffeine over consumption.

“Hm I guess we'll need to tell the Captain and some of the science team when they get here.” He'd say as he looked back at the screen.

Quickly I turned back around and faced the monitor before clicking the HUD again and choosing to move out the alleyway and into the street.

“Holy hell.. How far away was this place from the ship's crash?” I hear Jex ask as the droid begins to walk down the street as it keeps far from the guards.

“I believe 10 miles or less, this is damage from two days ago from when we crashed. The shockwave seems to have damaged the outer buildings severely. Luckily the shockwave didn't hit hard enough and the rest of the buildings had only shattered wind-” As I was speaking a sudden loud BOOM could be heard from the screen.

Almost immediately both of our eyes moved to the screen as we saw from the droid’s eye.

The guards we saw from earlier were running somewhere but we couldn't see exactly what as the droid then luckily enough began to follow them.

“What the hell is happening?” I thought out loud as we saw a small perimeter of guards around an unsuspecting broken down building.

Their faces were filled with panic except one, they were from my best guess spouting orders in their still unknown language.

As the droid got closer we could see more detail of what was happening, upon closer look the building was bigger than any of the homes. The walls were brick and framed steel, despite this some of the walls were broken like they were forcefully busted open by a powerful force.

From the broken walls themselves a thick viscous fog came out, barely from view the silhouette of a thin humanoid lurked in it.

The humanoid then turned around to face the terrified guards.

The eyes.. the same ethereal light they had.. brightly glowing like supernova, it's form was cracked and was like it was struggling to exist in this world.

It's arms were a few inches away from it's thin shoulders, the legs far from the hips as it floated above the ground like a ghost.

It's thin head was suspended above the neck with nothing holding it up.

The only explanation that appeared was impossible.. but the shape, the looks, and the light..

It was an Unbidden..

My bionic heart was now beating heavily as it walked out…

Only to be met with.. Air? No, not air…. from it's shape and size it should've been something physical.

The Being looked like it was made of gas, not energy like the Unbidden.

The eyes floated along it's body, they were glowing but weren't physical either and the color of them was bizarre. A tint of blue surrounded by gray.

This… puzzled me completely, it was something straight out of fantasy.

The Being stared at the brave guard in the middle, like a predator picking which part of its prey to tear off first.

The Being's head slowly tilted back, a low screech tore its way from its gaseous body rising by the second, the panicked guards seemed to be about to simply run away from the screen shattering noise alone as I saw their knees bend.

The middle guard was steadfast and kept his pike aimed at the Being without fear..

Slowly the Being lifted up it's arm as it pointed at the guard its head coming back down to lock eyes with him again staring...screaming, hateful, damning screaming

“W-what the hell is it doing?” Jex said as I could practically hear his nervousness in his voice..

At first the Being simply stood there, it's arm arm outstretched still screaming no need for breath, however...

The guard himself looked to be fighting something, stabbing his pike into random places in the air as he tried to back away.

A leg buckled, he fell to the floor and the Being advanced towards him but just by an inch.

Upon the rock road the guard suddenly began to convulse and shake, his hands went flying to his neck.

He was choking.. constantly gagging and gasping for air before finally going limp...

The other guards look at each other for a moment before dropping their pikes and running in random directions.

“What the fuck!? is it… doing that?” I heard Jex say as I turned around to face him, his visor was now a mix of orange and yellow.

“I… I don't know but whatever it is doing or what IT is, all I know is that we should hope the Captain comes here quickly.”

Suddenly the sound of an autodoor automatically opening could be heard behind us, almost immediately both me and Jex got off our seats and turned to face who it was.

My eyes went wide as not only the Captain was there but the chief of security!

“R-reporting C-Captain!” I'd hear Jex bellow out as he slammed his fist against his chest saluting them.

I then quickly followed suit, “Reporting Captain!”

The Captain had her arms behind her back as she slowly looked around the room.

"At ease Cadets, so what have the droids found? Cadet Jex certainly seemed excited enough about it, called on the holo and started yelling about 'Advanced organisms, possibly sapient life', right?” She'd say with a monotone voice as she looked at us.

“Yes ma'am! I-I was the first one to notice it after one of the droids reported early!” I quickly answered her.

“I see, may we see the evidence?” She'd say as her visor moved to look at the live footage that was happening on the screen.

“Ye-Yes ma'am!” I hear Jex say as both her and the Chief of Security walk by us and look at the screen.

The Captain, despite her unflinching tone, tilted her head at the screen.

“The hell? Why is there screaming?” The Chief of security said as they moved to face us.

“Before you both came in, some sort of attack happened during observations of the structures the humanoids inhabit, whatever it is, it is extremely dangerous and from the footage you can see now..” I say as the Captain pulled a cord out of her arm and hooked it up to the bottom of the monitor.

The Captain's visor turned a few colors for a few seconds, on the screen itself the live footage paused so the downloading could go easily.

After about another few seconds the Captain moved her head to look at us as her visor suddenly turned to blue to show the footage was done downloading.

“They are right, the Master Officer was saying she saw structures but I didn't believe her until now.” The Captain said as she unhooked the wire as it went back into her arm.

“We should have the droid observe and not interfere in any way, we don't know who they are.” The Chief said as they looked at the now resumed footage.

“I agree with the Chief, this is not of the Technocracy's concern. Although it is sad, we can't jeopardize our mission to get back home.” The Captain coldly agreed with the Chief.

It was true that it was outside of our concern.. But I couldn't just ignore people dying.

“I'm sure whatever they have is enough to defend themselves, we don't need to exert resources more than we already have.” They'd say as their bionic frame shifted a bit.

As the Chief finished talking I couldn't take any more…

“I'm sorry to interrupt Chief but.. don't we have droids out there collecting samples? And the Dragoons scouting out the areas near the ship, why can't we use them to help them?” I shot at the Chief as their chrome colored eyes turned yellow as they narrowed at me.

Despite the eyes of authority beaming down on me I opened my mouth to speak once more.

“During the last days of the Unbidden war my homeworld's supply chain was cut off by harvesters and was unable to get supplies and access to communications, the world was barren with few colonies and even fewer supplies. When the food ran out and people began to fight each other for scraps, my grandfather set up a hydroponics plant with the few credits he had. He used it to help people in need of food till the fleet contacted us, we help our own in times of crisis, not abandon them!”

"Our own yes. And if it were our own out there facing a true Unbidden I wouldn't hesitate to smash our precious few resources against it. But that's not an Unbidden it just looks like one, and even during the war with the Unbidden this exact scene played out thousands of times. The soldiers get scared of the enemy, they break and run, the superior comes in to rally them and they turn the rout into a victory. When they get home there's medals and stories commemorating the Valor on the battlefield, and oh look here they come now."

They said as a series of portals opened up on the battlefield robed warriors stepped out and like prophecy foretold began to bring the scattered soldiers back into order while a scant few held off the pseudo Unbidden.

"See that's the difference in the situation cadet? We're cut off but they aren't THEIR own will come to save them because whatever species this is, this is their land. Jex make a note of those portals that's important Intel and I'd love it if r&d could have a crack at it.”

That coldness.. that unwillingness.. ignoring why the Technocracy helps THE people..

At that point I didn't even care..

“You saw the footage and what was happening! You can't just throw away what made the Technocracy! So what that they aren't our people!?”

I barked out at them as they then approached, their hydraulic legs shifting and compressing.

"We'd only be adding more chaos to the situation cadet. They see our dragoons and droids approaching and then what? They decide they have to fight on two fronts and die anyway?”

They barked back out as their synthetic voice got louder.

"Then we show them we are not enemies by helping them! Show them we mean no harm!" I bark back at them with my teeth clenched.

"Oh by marching our soldiers into town and firing artillery rounds over their head? look at them the most advanced weaponry they have is that spear that first soldier was holding and...Whatever they're doing with their hands to make those explosions pop up"

They said momentarily distracted by the video screen again more monsters had begun to crawl out of the broken down warehouse by this point clashing with the reformed line of soldiers, a cat person was dashing up and down the line barking out orders and jumping into the fight anywhere the line began to buckle.

"Regardless they're tightly packed in there, we go in and start firing recklessly; they're not going to be able to tell what we're aiming at. Then they turn on us, we lose droids, they lose men and the whole situation spills into the town. We don't have the supplies to spare on missions that won't work cadet not when we may have to defend ourselves from the same people we'd be trying to save.” They'd say as their eyes became a bright red color.

"How long will they hold!? You see their weapons, it's clear they won't survive against the horde." I'd say with venom in my throat,

"We distract the beasts and redirect them so we can take them out without hurting anyone else!”

"How are you going to redirect them? they're beasts, do you even know how to herd cattle let alone..." They gestured to a random creature on the screen that was using its feathers to unleash a storm of small cuts onto the soldiers.

"...Is that a griffon? Do you even know how to herd a griffon alongside a few dozen other types of creatures into the same direction? or did you plan to open a can of wet food and hope for the best?” their synthetic voice was amplified a bit as if to drive the point.

I paused for a moment as I tired thinking of what to say before suddenly remembering something,

"The top lights of the Dragoons! They are used for lightning or scaring off light sensitive megafauna, we could use them to annoy the beasts and redirect them so we can shoot them and not hurt the humanoids." I argued to them,

"Maybe...Is that a guarantee that they'll work though? no. I see atleast 3 creatures in there without eyes. one of them just looks like a blob of slime with no sensory organs at all. And that can also provoke them into attacking the dragoons rather than scattering them like they would with mega fauna back in the technocracy. Are you going to take responsibility if one of the sapient AI dies from a monster attack if it did provoke them?” They said as the sound of hydraulics adjusting was heard from their body.

My teeth then clenched hard...

"Yes, I'd take full responsibility for every death, waste of munitions, and destruction of military assets.. Just so innocent people wouldn't suffer.. you did the same.." I'd say to them as tears flowed from my now puffed eyes.

"Why would you need those implants, in the first place? If you didn't give up everything to save lives..”

The chief hummed to themselves, straightening. Something in their eyes readjusted, no reassessed what they were looking at. Over to the side Jex called out to them in the quiet moment, "Ma'am the line is buckling I count three of the robed warriors down and something big is starting to come up!" They didn't react to it though, just kept staring drawing out the moment.

"Chief...please" I said as the last of the fight was starting to leave my voice.

Finally after a long moment of unflinching eye contact she came to a decision, closing their eyes creating a break in the solemn moment they nodded to themselves, "You'll do." with that they opened their eyes again a formal serious and more ceremonial look overtook them. Solemness was replaced by sacred ritual as their hand flicked up grabbing onto the data patch on my uniform which marked my rank. Before I could react she had ripped it from my chest and tossed it across the floor. Jex's eyes widened in surprise and horror but the Chief's eyes told a different story.

"You are out of uniform soldier" They said reaching into a pouch on their belt and pulling out a new data patch pressing it into my chest briefly rubbing it into place so the velcro could stick, and then with the same arm they had sacrificed to save lives, punched the patch into place activating its personnel lock to interact with the rest of my uniform marking it as mine.

"Do not let it happen again, I expect you at the strategy meeting in t-minus 5 minutes. I know it's last minute but your attendance is mandatory." With that they and the captain about faced and began to walk out of the drone bay but at the threshold she lingered for only a moment not looking back at me or Jax.

"Congratulations on your promotion droid commander Mzult.”

LO: The Transgracian Academy for the Magical Arts, Unknown Hallway. Time: 2:23 pm day: 12th of [Still translating]

Professor Vanavan:

It has been two days since that well I don't really know what to call it, it was FAR bigger then any aethership I've ever seen.. Not even crownland aetherships were that large.

‘Either way it crashlanded and caused damages.. to both the Academy itself and the students.. some worse than others..’

I'd think to myself before rubbing my left eye as I walked down to the council room. Pain was still lingering on my eyelid despite being healed by a healing spell after a piece of glass slashed across it.

‘Some students and other faculty said they felt like their own soul was ripped from them… and even said they saw other student's own mana fields seem like they were disappearing..’

Suddenly I heard a voice coming from behind me, softer and a familiar one, this knocked me out of my thoughts as I stopped and turned my head to see who it was.

It was Professor Chiska, she despite her injuries and half a tail she seemed almost fine.

“Good afternoon Professor Vanavan” She spoke with a confident tone.

“Hello Professor Chiska, I see your injuries are getting better!” I'd say to her as she responded with a smile.

“Yep! Thankfully they managed to save- well most of my tail heh.” She'd say in a joking manner before walking over to me as we both begin to walk together.

At the end of the hall stood two large gargoyles guarding the door to the counsel room.

After another minute of walking I stopped in front of the door as I then waited for Chiska to meet up with me, slowly I then turned my head to make sure Chiska kept up. She seemed to be limping slightly. As soon as we got close to the door it quickly opened as if it was expecting the both of us.

“Need a hand Professor Chiska?” I asked her as it was met with a smile.

“I'm alright, just need to get to my seat” she'd say, she said she was alright but I knew that wasn't the case.

Immediately we went into the room one after another, the room was lit enough that we could see everyone in the room.

In the middle of it was a large rectangle table with enough seats for the other Professors, as well as at the end of it was a larger seat engraved with dragons and covered in a cloth that had the colors of the Academy, and had some silken cushioning for the Dean himself.

On the table was a long piece of gold lined cloth which was the dark colors of the Academy stretching out to both ends of the table.

As I then moved my head around to see where my own seat was. I deeply hoped it was not by Mal'tory.

Another thing I could see was that many of the seats had different colored cloths that were the same colors of our robes draped over them and name tags dotting the back of said cloths.

Hastily I made my way along the side of the table near the chairs before ending up at mine.

Luckily I was seated next to Chiska and..Sorecar? How did he even get here-

I decided to simply pull out my chair and take a seat deciding not to question how he got here, though his presence is much appreciated.

My head slowly turned to look to see if everyone was at the table, every seat was occupied..

Except Mal'tory's..

‘Odd he is usually the first here..’ I thought to myself but before I could think about why a sudden loud crackle interrupted my thoughts.

Almost immediately I tried to figure out where that noise was coming from as my head then swiveled to look at the balcony above the Dean's chair.

There was a slit in the tapestry that was hanging above the balcony itself.

Slowly the slit became bigger and bigger as I suddenly realized what was happening..

‘Of course he is coming through a portal.. what next riding a-’ before I could finish what I was thinking the portal was fully opened up as the Dean himself strode through it on a winged snake.

‘What is with his new obsession with riding into places on different beasts?’ I then thought to myself.

"Good afternoon everyone!" The Dean bellowed out gliding down on the winged snake to land next to his luxurious chair. Settling into it while his snake curled around the seat, splaying out its wings to frame the entire image with a roof of feathers, The Dean hummed to himself.

"I see that Mal'tory is not here, odd but we have many things to discuss." He leaned forward in his seat, " let's get started then, shall we?”

“Two days ago after the ceremony a gigantic strange cylinder fell from the sky and slammed into the earth not too far from the Academy, causing a shock wave that both damaged the surrounding area and the academy itself as well as mana fields. Today it is still damaging mana fields and making a literal hole in mana.” The dean said before pausing for effect.

“We don't know what it is besides it's shape, I give the floor now for anyone to say what they think it could be.”

“If I may?” Chiska would say before getting a response from the Dean.

“I give the floor to you Professor Chiska” he'd say with a hum as he gave the floor to Chiska.

“From what I can gather, it seems like some sort of Aethership. But I never remember ever seeing an Aethership THAT large before, I give the floor back to you Dean” She'd say with a formal nod as she gave the floor back to the Dean.

He'd then nodded back as he spoke

“I agree with you Professor but it could be an Aethership but as you said it's size is a considerable factor” He said while he combed though his beard in thought, “although I myself have seen crownland Aetherships they are huge but not the size of that humongous cylinder that is in our backyard.” He'd say before pausing for effect.

“I now give the floor to anyone else who wants to speak on this mat-” before the Dean could even finish his sentence he was interrupted by Sorecar.

“Iiiiif I maaay?” Sorecar said as the Dean then sighed before answering him.

“Yes Sorecar go ahead I give you the floor..” the Dean would say with an annoyed sigh.

What happened next was.. nothing anyone was expecting.

“Hmmm thaaank you Deeean, I would like to present something from the cylinder itself!” Sorecar would say with a smug chuckle.

This immensely ticked everyone's interest as the Dean himself seemed interested as he leaned forward while he combed his beard in interest.

Sorecar then pulled out a large vial of light gray liquid and placed it in front of himself.

“Taaa daaaa! Now before you say: ‘Sorecar it's just quicksilver. Is that what came from the cylinder?’ That was my reaction in it's sleeping form buuut it is something more fantastic! Observe my dear friends!” Hastily Sorecar jerked the quicksilver looking material.

And like that the metal began to move everywhere inside of the vial.

‘The cylinder is made up of this? Fascinating’ I thought to myself as I watched the organism inside of the vial move around hastily like it was trying to go somewhere.

“If you don't mind me asking Sorecar, where did you find this piece of the cylinder?’ The Dean would ask him with a lifted eyebrow.

“Weeeell I'm glad you asked! During the whole dreadful shockwave that came from that cylinder, a shard of the cylinder itself shot through one of the windows in my armory and into the wall!” he'd say enthusiastically while twirling the vial in his hand.

“Excuse me Sorecar but.. how do you know it is from the cylinder itself?” I'd question him as I quickly got an answer.

“Well that's the thing, I myself have checked! No material in any of my orders uses this strange metal, I have also checked the manufactorum and found no metal with the properties of this metal” He'd say with a chuckle.

“Another thing I forgot to mention is that I sense absolutely no mana from it! Most interesting if I do say so myself.” He'd say smugly

“Sorecar what do you m-” I was quickly cut off as Sorecar then spoke in a near excited tone.

“Aye you're all confused and dismissive I see! Well I myself have made sure to test it every way I can! That be simply looking for any sort of mana field or trying to manipulate it with mana, it did not react whatsoever! Well besides bubbling quite a bit.” He'd said as he shook his hand to the left or right.

“Still don't believe me? Well then how about you check for… yourselves!” He'd say enthusiastically before spinning the vial with two fingers and pushing it towards me.

As the vial spun towards me I attempted to grab it while it was still spinning towards me, but instead of me grabbing it, I instead accidentally pushed it off the table, immediately I panicked and luckily, managed to grab it before it hit the stone floor.

I then sigh in relief as I slowly get back up, but as I did I'd accidentally hit the back of my head and hit the underside of the table.

“Ack!-” I'd grunt, before managing to get back up fully and then rubbing the back of my head as the table rattled , shooting a look at Sorecar as I raised my head back up.

His two legs were crisscrossed on the table with his head turned towards me, I then sigh a bit in annoyance as I check the living metal inside of the vial.

There was no field

No essence of mana.. I had to be hallucinating.

Frantically, I began to twist and turn the bottle in my hand and by the second the realization slowly came to me.

Sorecar was right, no sensation of mana or fields at all… It was blank and black.. how…how in his majesty's name is this possible!?

“He's.. telling the truth! No mana at all! No fields, just blank!” I blurted out with shock as my eyes were wide in disbelief.

“Are you sure Professor Vanavan? You could be experiencing the same thing as Sorecar” the Dean said as his eyes looked like they were annoyed.

“But I was farther away from the shockwave, mine was only slightly damaged and I didn't have any hallucinations.” I'd say hurriedly as the Dean's eyes went wide a little as he combed his fingers through his beard.

“Please pass it over to me Vanavan” the Dean then asked in a more curious tone as he then reached out for the vial.

With a nod I then picked the vial back up and placed it into his hand before sitting back down.

Almost immediately he began to inspect the vial, first twisting it within his two fingers and staring at it for a few seconds.

The metal in the vial suddenly began to boil and blacken a little just for those few seconds before settling down and turning to its regular color.

As the Dean kept inspecting the living metal, his eyes slowly went up in shock as his mouth opened a bit.

“I… both of them are.. telling the truth! No mana whatsoever! No fields, no sensation.. this is unbeliev-” before the Dean could finish what he was saying he'd accidentally drop the vial onto the table itself.

Almost immediately as the vial made contact with the table, it shattered into a few pieces and spread out on the table.

The metal spilt on the cloth as pieces of it wiggled around and hastily combined back together.

into.. a smaller odd looking cylinder

“Is.. that what it would look like up close?” I'd hear Chiska say as all of us watched the Dean then pick up the now solid piece of living metal and inspected it.

“Ooooo that's interesting it never did that when I've taken it out” Sorecar would say enthusiastically, as he was now leaning forward.

“I think.. it might be some sort of offspring of the cylinder itself..and from these strange incisions it might be some sort of beast of burden..” the Dean guessed before placing it back on to the table.

“I don't think it's any sort of offspring sir” Articord suddenly spoke up with a dismissive tone. “It seems to be a model of sorts, like the ones I have in my class.”

“Well whatever it is we need to find out more about it and even more about the giant one outside and make sure it's not a danger to the academy and its students.” Chiska said in a serious tone as she was leaning forward a bit.

“Then we move onto our final discussion” the Dean then said with a pause before speaking once more,

“What to do about the cylinder itself.” He'd say as suddenly a familiar crackle was heard in the corner of the room.

Most immediately, all eyes were on the small slit in the dark corner of the room. Slowly, it grew and grew until finalizing into a portal.

And who stepped out of it was near obvious to anyone who could guess it.

Mal'tory…

“Where in the majesty's name have you been Mal'tory!? The meeting is almost finished for Throne's sake!” The Dean angrily huffed out.

“Scouting that dreadful rod near the academy sir..” He'd say in a dismissive and rather annoyed tone.

“What? You didn't even ask permission-” he'd say in a still angry tone before sighing,

“Just sit down and tell us what you found.” The Dean then said as he rubbed his face in annoyance.

With a nod Mal'tory then went over to his seat and pulled it out and sat on it.

"Yes, talking very important, far more effective though if you actually know what you're talking about.” He'd say in a dismissive tone,

“Which is why unlike the rest of you who've been lazing about in the medical ward and poking at foreign metals" he casted a pointed look at Sorecar. "I've been out learning what I could about our new homewrecker”

Before anyone could speak he suddenly pulled out a Mana seer and slammed it onto the table in front of himself,

The far seer suddenly activated as the room brightened up a bit as the purple hue of a memory shard appeared above the shard.

“One day ago after the rod landed, I went scouting around it.” He'd say with a bit of annoyance in his throat before speaking once more

“When I was scouting out the rod I heard something loud crash into the soil in front of the road or rather below it.” He'd say as the memory shard showed a large cloud of rock and dirt flying out into the air.

“As I went to check what that dreadful noise was and what caused it.” He then said before looking up to look at what the Mana seer was projecting.

“I noticed these strange looking golems, they were much larger than any golem I've ever heard of or seen. They were also carrying large ballista weaponry. Another thing I noticed was the familiar symbols on their chests”

The Mana seer then showed the hulking golems as it focused on their chests, the right one with the symbol of a drop of water, middle with a hawk, and left with what looked to be a symbol of melted metal.

The last one seemed to peak Sorecar's interest as he was leaning forward, even more now to look at the Golem.

“All three had alchemy symbols on their chests, as such I will be using them as their names. Water, Hawk, and Iron for the rest of the meeting ” He'd speak in a curious tone as he looked at the memory shard.

“Not long after stopping to keep my distance, I saw two of them fall onto the soil. Water fell on their side and Iron nearly keeling with one knee”

The Mana seer showed both of the large golems falling to the ground in separate manners.

“After 10 or more minutes two smaller golems came out of the top of Hawk, and what I heard from them was a rough and loud barbaric sounding noise.” He'd say as smaller gray almost skeleton-like golems came out the top of the middle larger golem.

“After another minute or so, one covered in tan skin like liquid came out of the top of Water. It was screaming as if it had been hurt severely but while focusing on the blooded golem, another smaller golem had come out of Hawk.”

He'd say before pausing for effect as we saw a white and grey colored golem come out of Water. This one was less skeleton-like and looked thicker, most disturbing of all it was covered in skin.. And blood.

“The middle golem on Hawk looked to be shouting some sort of orders and both of the other two went back inside of Hawk before following them. That was yesterday, the next one was today.”

The shard then showed large metal walls encompassing a around the back end of the cylinder, more of those skeleton-like golems were seen carrying things to strange metal structures.

Some larger ones could be seen patrolling along the walls, heavy unmanned ballistas dotted the sides.

“Because their odd insignia does not match anything recognizable inside of nexian records, these golems must be apart of an unknown nation or organization.” Mal'tory said with a still focused look at the memory shard.

The memory shard showed multiple angles of an unknown insignia, in the middle is a strange looking star with a single dot in the middle.

Behind it was a crimson red slash with a shade of blue as the background, in the top right corner of it were four stars and a pair of blue wings in the middle.

‘A unknown nation… this is.. first contact with an unknown realm!’ I thought to myself as I kept my eyes on the shard.

Mal’tory leaned forward across the table, crossing his hands in front of his face as spoke grimly, "They are out. Only hours ago I observed these golems scouting across the nexian lands surrounding the academy. No doubt gathering information for their masters inside the cylinder.”

The room was now silent then normal… The air felt tense, I could see Chiska looking over at Mal'tory before looking at the model of the cylinder.

“If they are scouting, that means they are planning something..” Chiska said as she looked back at the Mana seer.

‘But if they were planning something then why didn't the scouts have any weapons on them.. you wouldn't send scouts out without weapons if you knew there would be hostiles.’ I'd think to myself.

The Dean placed both his hands together as he seemed to be in thought.

“Hmm.. Then if no one has anything further to add we will move onto the final decision of what we should do about the cylinder.” The Dean said before pausing for effect.

“I will not reveal my decision until all other Professors have made theirs.” He'd say as he looked up at all the professors in the room.

“Professor Chiska, what is your decision on what we should do?”

She at first sighed for a moment before speaking,

“I will first bring up what I have seen, we are dealing with an unknown nation. With unknown motives, we do not know what they want, we do not know why they are here.”

She'd pause at the last word before speaking again

“They are using an organized company of golems to do their work, and from those weapons we've seen from the memory shard I do not think they are here to make contact with us but to scout us out and find our weakness. My theory is that they used that cylinder to temporarily push us to our backs to make us vulnerable and attack at a later date, to undermine both the academy and it's students.”

She'd pause again as she took a deep breath of air to get her barrings

“My decision is that we should attack them before they can attack us.” She then said with a deep serious tone as she rubbed the side of her face.

“I see, next decision falls on you Professor Vanavan” the Dean said as he again combed his beard.

"I disagree with professor Chiska" Vanavan said crossing his arms over his chest, one hand tapping the inside of his elbow as he thought "Despite the unfortunate introductions we have been saddled with we have seen no true sign of hostility from the-"

"No true sign of hostility" Chiska suddenly stood up the chair letting out a short cry as it scraped across the floor as she loomed threateningly over Vanavan, "Their opening move was to shatter every window in the academy at once! Dozens of residents of the academy are still filling the medical ward and their follow up of STEALING the mana of the area continues to threaten the lives of professor and student ALIKE by hindering the efforts of the healers even now. There are students struggling to breathe because shards of glass slipped past their ribs! Or nursing broken bones and head trauma from the blast knocking them over at poor times. I had to WAKE UP to bleeding crying students while managing my own wounds. My mana fields were so stripped I could feel my soul threatening to leave my body VANAVAN. I WILL NOT-"

"Proffesor Chiska that is enough. Return to your chair and calm yourself or you will be removed from this room by force." The Dean forcibly cut in

Chiska paused as she looked from the dean to back to Vanavan. The man stared up at her owlishly. She hadn't realized how close she'd gotten or how her claws had extended past her fingertips in anger.

She looked at the other professors only to find them staring expectantly back at her, the way teachers would impatiently wait for an unruly child to stop talking so they could teach again. She took a breath, retracted her claws forcibly, and walked back to her seat. It wasn't until she sat down that she started to speak again this time with forced calm as she looked back to Vanavan,

"They took half my tail, they've injured half of the student body… and they NEED to answer for it." She wasn't sure why she had gotten so angry so quickly, it had been so calm in the moment, but she was sure that these were the facts rather than whatever idealized madness had taken Vanavan.

Vanavan had to blink a few times before he was able to drive the look on his face away.

"Chiska, I was here for it all, believe me I understand I nearly lost an eye in the same stroke as you lost a piece of yourself." He said gesturing to the healed gash under his left eye, still sore from when it had been healed earlier.

"But that's exactly why I don't want to run in half blind. There are too many things we don't know that will only get more good men and women killed if we don't properly pursue them"

Articord raised an eyebrow in interest at this from across the table

"But if we don't do our best to learn about them now, and approach them peacefully..."

Vanavan paused for a brief moment before he continued

"...Then we lose any chance we have at finding a bloodless way to resolve this conflict. I think they're lost and just as confused as we are..."

Articord lost interest again as she knew how he'd end this grand little speech

"...I think there's still a way to not only end this peacefully but to have a new adjacency added to the nexus, they clearly didn't arrive by portal!"

He bundled up his arm resting his elbows on the table pointing out of one side of the fold towards the Mana seer,

"Here's what I do know for sure. That cylinder holds secrets that could change the nexus forever. Already we've seen it form a hole in the mana of the nexus, we've seen pieces of it shed off and form possible offspring, or models either way it was without mana! And we've seen giant golems, the kind that rival small aetherships in size, leap out of it. My official decision is to make diplomatic contact and pursue civilized peace with the cylinder."

Vanavan sat back in his seat with a satisfied huff fully expecting his speech to have moved the other professors to his side but the disappointed looks opposite him on the table quickly dashed that hope.

Articord let out her own soft scoff, "You cannot be serious Vanavan, look at the size of the ballistae on the side of the cylinder and those golems you mentioned earlier. Oh I suppose these are all just decorative ornamentals for a diplomatic ship."

She mused to herself before she rested back in her chair, chin held high,

"This is a wartime vessel Vanavan. Even you have to recognize that. Why would they send war golems out first, hmm?"

"The first thing you do when you find yourself in a strange place is create a perimeter. Am I declaring war on the forest every time I set up a warding glyph around my expedition camp?" Vanavan said too quickly.

"You are if that warding glyph is designed to destroy the trees around it." She leaned forward again making sure to match Vanavan's gaze.

"I've been on alot of battlefields Vanavan, too many to survive by dumb luck, although many a poor fool has tried, and let me tell you now...You don't send your strongest most well armed knight just to scout, or to *set up a perimeter* "

She made air quotes around it, mocking it to his face,

"You send them out when you're expecting to fight something. Here's what really happened, because I think you are half right. 2 days ago the vessel sets out from an unknown nation to an unknown to them world, they're equipped with a perfect mage killing weapon and an army of golems to conquer with. They enter here, because here is where alot of different worlds converge their portals at, and since they arrived so suddenly that's how I'd have to assume they get around the same way. Except, something goes wrong, maybe it's how strong the magic is that throws them off, maybe it's his majesty's grace protecting us but they come out and crash straight into the ground. They start rushing out to try and recover the plan but once they're beyond the range of their mana killer the masters start naturalizing and the golems rush to their aid."

She suddenly points to the cylinder in the Mana seer, "the only reason they're not pouring over the academy right now is because we got lucky. We have precious little time to prepare and plan because that state of panic and confusion won't last forever."

Chiska nodded, gesturing across the table to articord in an exaggerated gesture of 'see I was right'.

Articord sighed and shook her head as she looked back to chiska "I'm not agreeing with you either, you're both naive to the point of being suicidal."

She rolled her eyes shifting in her seat to get comfortable again before she continued

"The fact of the matter is we don't know enough to act right now either. We need to learn as much as we can about the cylinder as fast as we can. We don't know if those ballistae are non functional or simply resting, we don't know if the golem masters inside are dead or are only hidden, and we don't know if we destroy the ship if the mana hole will disappear with it or spiral out of control. By his majesty we can't even approach with their mana killer still active without risking death. My official decision is to learn first and plan second."

Mal'tory who had been silent up until now nodded "I agree with Atticord but would like to add onto it, we need to harry their own scouting attempts. If we can keep them from learning about us, it will only buy us more time to learn about them. And of course more time for us to act on that information. This is my official decision." Mal'tory finished off his short speech with a satisfied nod before all turned back to the dean.

The Dean's eyes were closed, his hands clenched together as he was in deep thought..

After a few minutes of thinking he suddenly opened his eyes as they then wandered over to look at one side of the table,

Then slowly glanced at the other side before looking up at the shadow cast in the ceiling from the balcony, the shadow was from the cylinder itself.

His head then bowed low to look at the model of the cylinder.

“Chiska is right, we cannot overlook how they got here and their looming threat. The fact they landed here and caused so much destruction is an extreme threat.” The Dean said with his eyes now laying on Chiska before moving over Articord

“I agree with you Articord, if you are sending scouts you don't send golems armed with heavy ballistas. If you send your heaviest and most armored units as scouts….” He said with his eyes unmoving from her as his gaze then reached to Mal'tory

“Though you were late Mal'tory.. I agree with you on hindering them and buying the academy time until we have enough might to bring them to arms.” He said before closing his eyes again and bowing his head.

“Thus I reveal my final decision…” he'd say before pausing

The air felt tight now as the Dean then revealed his decision.

“We shall deal with this threat by sending scouting parties supported from the nearby guild, we will not get too close to them. As well we will ban anyone from speaking to Golems or their masters, we will also disrupt their scouts and set up defenses around the academy.” He'd say with his eyes deadset at all of us

“We will also ban any student from writing to home, we shall also appeal to the crownlands for aid. The local lord will be reassured and ordered to help defend the academy, these roles will be doled out to whom I best deem fit for them tomorrow morning at dawn's break.”

He said before getting up from his chair

“If there are no other mat-” before the Dean could end the meeting, the sound of a familiar crackle could be heard as all eyes in the room snapped towards where was coming from.

It was in the back of the room, a familiar slit could be seen as it got bigger and bigger before then becoming a portal.

Suddenly, a background of smoke could be seen in it as.. Professor Belnor came running out.

“T-the experiments are loose all over the town! The ward couldn't keep them in place! She'd say with a panicked tone.

Hi was wondering if someone could talk with me bout an idea I had?(for my fanfic)

Basically in ny fanfic the Colonists/crew members have not interacted yet with the locals(AE Nexians) and since they probably won't interact with a noble first.

I was thinking maybe they instead get their translations from the Working class of Nexians instead of the nobles and elites? They instead using(low Nexian?) Instead of High Nexian.

(Totally not important for a Chapter of my fic I'm writing.)

How would that look per say?

CRASHLANDED CH7!

Crashlanded CH7

(Welcome back lads and laddies and mates from beyond our dimension, I'm back with another chapter about our crashlanded mates. This chapter is basically gonna be a lead up to a time skip, anyway hope y'all like this chapter and thank you JCB as always for making this wonderful universe.)

LO: UTSTS PROMETHEUS's cockpit, 12 miles away from the Academy, Time: 5:30 PM Day: March 23rd Thursday 2590 AD

Cadet Emma booker:

It had been a few hours after the crash, almost everyone in the cockpit was working on trying to find out a way to communicate with the rest of the ship.

The neutron beam coms were down and most of the crew members were trying to figure out how to reconnect the beams, apparently something knocked one of the critical com beams offline.

We still needed to get in contact with the other crew members on the ship to see their progress.

Hope none of the colonists got hurt.. I can just imagine all the boring paperwork the captain would need to do heh..

“Cadet Emma Booker? Any luck on coms?” My thoughts were immediately cut short as I heard a synthetic voice behind me.

I almost immediately spun around to meet who was speaking to me.

It was the captain.. despite her voice being synthetic sounding like many of the Sapient Machines I've met, her voice sounded more unique.

“N-no ma'am no luck! Only skirting noises from coms.”

I'd answer her with a nervous tone as I watched her rub the side of her head.

“Fuckin hell it's like the battle of New Istanbul all over again.. Hm hey are the antennas functional? We haven't tested to see if they survived the crash.”

She'd speak to me in the monotone voice she was known for.

“Maybe, let's just hope they work under hundreds of pounds of dirt and rock.”

I hastily answered her before turning my back and turning my front to the semi-repaired com table.

There was exposed wiring all over the place but the haloscreen was intact despite a ton weighing captain slamming on it via gravity.

The screen was glitchy but still held strong as I navigated to the ship's integrity navigation tab, there were luckily not many reds and another lucky stroke was no hull breaches.

For some reason though it said the back was open?

I then suddenly hear a disappointed sigh from the captain.

“Of course she took some dragoons.. well considering there's no O2 leaks I'm guessing we are in a hab world.. I guess we should say jack pot if not for the fact we still can't communicate.” The Captain would say before turning her head to look at me, though it was hard to tell.. I think she was actually looking at the screen.

“Well ma'am uh good news is the antennas are okay, I think we can actually swiftly deploy them as well as the emergency resources Protocol.” I said to her with a confident voice as she then nodded and stood back up.

“Good call, I'm guessing the bad news is the reconfig part and the finding a good frequency that we can use for all over the ship.” She'd say as a sudden light appeared in the recreation and café deck of the ship.

It was the beacon no doubt.

“Well it seems like those guys and pals are doin well and following orders… Anyway your next order is to deploy the antennas and to config them, dismissed Cadet!” She hastily said to me as she placed a robotic hand over her right upper part of her chest as I did the same.

She then turned back around and went over to the other side of the cockpit.

Captain A223 ‘Oliva Arkinson’:

“Status report Second lieutenant Malone?” I'd asked the heavily armored juggernaut Sapient machine, his rounder, more circular plate covered head slowly shifted towards mine as the singular red beam looked at me.

“Yes Captain, there is an unknown radiation type outside the ship, it seemed to be the reason why the coms were knocked out in the first place.”

Those words made my visor turn orange.

“What do you mean? I have never heard of any radiation type able to knock out neutron coms.” I was now intrigued more than anything now.

“For whatever reason the unknown radiation seemed to have caused some sort of distortion within the beams themselves. But there was no radiation leakage that was detected.” They answer as they'd look back to the blue holoscreen.

‘None of the sensors being able to pick it up.. we don't know if it hasn't already leaked inside.. nor do we know what it can do.. this can turn ugly fast…’ I'd think to myself as I looked back at the Second lieutenant.

“Make sure to doc any radiation spikes, dismissed” I'd tell the lieutenant as they nodded at me.

Quickly I made my way to the captain's seat that was at the front end of the cockpit.

In front of the seat was a mini curved console for basically barking out orders or telling people different protocols with a button… that and giving the go to for shooting the main gun on the ship.

Over next to the console was Danny Olerson, the rear captain of the ship, who was responsible for taking my place in case something happened. He seemed to be currently looking at the droid storage tab at one of the consoles.

I decided to go over and check on him to see how his injuries were doing.

“Hello Danny, how's the injuries?” I'd ask him as he then turned the seat around to speak to me.

“Getting better Captain, sooner we get the ship back up and get out of here the better.” He'd say to me before opening his mouth to speak again, “Oh also Captain, it seems like not all the droids are offline. My best guess as to why is that the wires probably had an energy fluctuation and accidentally when we crashed and thus must have turned some of them online.” He said before turning back around and checking one droid pods on the holoscreen.

“Odd even with energy fluctuations they should stay off due to the security locks on them.. Let's hope none of the security droids woke up. Dismissed Rear Captain.” I said to him as he nodded at me and continued to monitor the droid pods.

Quickly I made my way over to my seat and sat down, the seat wasn't really covered with anything besides a thin layer of polyester.

Then again it wasn't like I couldn't just turn off my touch sensers..

Hastily I then turned on the holoscreen on the console, on the screen was a ‘put password here’ ui.

Under it were 3 symbols, the first one was an atom, the second was a pair of blue wings, and tree lines of colors; which were red, white, and blue.

I already knew what these symbols meant and what the password was.

Due to having to figure them out every time as I was the captain of a few battleships during my younger years.

Hastily I'd press the symbols in order as the screen then opened up with: ‘Hello captain’ message popped up on the screen.

With much care I simply ignored the message and went to the protocol tab.

There were at least five protocols in the tab.

1, Yangtze protocol: In case of an attack or pirates trying to board the ship.

2, Ship of Theseus protocol: Critical repairs needed

3, Mars protocol: Colonization

4, Titan protocol: Ship has encountered a Unbidden fleet

5, Crashlanded protocol: Emergency resources

The fifth one was the protocol we needed.

“All right crew I'm turning on protocol 5 be ready to configure the coms to use radio waves, Cadet are the antennas online?” I yelled out to the crew in the cockpit as I then got a few yes sir's and one aye.

“Yes Captain! The antennas are up and ready, the dirt might interfere with the waves but we should be able to com with the other crew members.” I hear Cadet Booker say as I then press the protocol and put in the password to activate it.

“Captain we have made contact with the others, looks like some of them had the same idea to switch to radio.” I hear from the Cadet as I then swivel to face the crew in the cockpit.

“Good job Cadet, let's tell the beacon team to come home, I'll make contact with the scouts. And Danny make sure to get a report from the crew in droid storage.” I barked out as I heard a collective of voices say “Yes Captain!”

“Finally some work is done, let's see what the scout crew has to say.” I'd speak to myself before turning on the emergency radio on the console as I saw the holoscreen get bigger as a display of a dragoon cockpit was shown as well as the Master officer.

“You have some damn explaining to Officer, why in the Light of damn Sol! Did you use the Dragoons!?” I spoke to the Master Officer who was in front of the screen.

“Only way to go down without squishing ourselves on the grown below Captain. The stern was too high up for reg deployment.” The Master officer would say in a depressive tone…

“I see, good idea on your part, what else?” I ask the Office.

“We have made a grave mistake Captain..” Those words… Did something bad happen?

“Is someone injured? If so you know proto-” before I could finish the Master officer spoke once more.

“Don't send anyone organic down here.. whatever type of radiation is out here is able to pierce any armor, not even the heavy rad plating was enough… I'm sorry to interrupt you but half my crew is dead, most were organic and died.”

My visor's color turned gray to show shock.

“The unknown radiation type.. I'm sorry Officer you couldn't have known the dangers. But I see some of your organic members are still alive?” I said to her as she looked behind herself.

“Y-yes Captain, I don't know why but they are alive, we have been standing still and nothing has happened.” She'd bark out before suddenly uploading a video to the call.

“This is what happened to the others Captain.. I..” She was trying to speak but.. whatever happened out there seemed to traumatize her and from the looks of it two crew members.

“It's.. okay Master officer, I'll try and send down some droids to pick y'all up. Stay in the dragoon and keep morale up, understand?”

She quickly nodded before saluting me via placing her hand on her upper left side of her chest.

“Hang in there” I'd say as the call ended.

‘Today is just full of surprises….’ I'd think to myself.

(Hope y'all liked this chapter, I did my absolute best and I hope I wrote Emma well. Anyway thank you JCB for making this universe! Oh BTW if y'all have any suggestions what I should do on the Nexian pov please tell me!)

CRASHLANDED CH6!!!

CRASHLANDED CH6

(Welcome fellow Terrans! Time for another chapter of Crashlanded, kinda stuck on what I should on the Nexian side of things. Anyway we're getting back to the lads and gal with the mechas -dragoons- Hope y'all like this chapter! OH as always ty JCB for making this universe.)

LO: Below the stern of the UTSTS PROMETHEUS, 12 miles away from the Academy, Time: 4:28 PM Day: March 23rd Thursday 2590 AD

No ones POV:

Multiple loud BOOM could be heard beneath the dragoons as their hydraulics shifted as they rammed hard against the ground like a building collapsing.

Dirt and rock was flung all over, some even slamming against the yellow striped armor of the dragoons. What was left was a crater the size of a small building.

Master officer Michelle 114:

‘Well THAT could have been worse’ I thought to myself as my head turned to look at the crew members in the cockpit.

Many of them were strapped onto the hull bolted seats and making the smart choice.

Except for one who was on the floor, they were one of the new models of sapient machines.

Their head was the same model as mine albeit newer, their visor had gold lines on the edges and was a baby blue. Their skeletal neck had a gold chain on it.

Their body was a silver color and had thicker limbs and torso.

They, from the looks of it, were wearing a private's uniform. The flag of the Technocracy was on their right pec with their rank on the side of it.

“I assume you thought you could defy gravity?”

I'd asked them as I heard in a severely broken monotone voice the word “yes”.

I sighed in disbelief before then rubbing my visor and taking a knee down next to them and helped them back up, via grabbing their armored spin and sticking them back onto their feet.

They immediately almost fell back to the floor but luckily for them, they managed to keep themselves up via quickly extending one of their arms and grabbing onto one of the nearby railings near the seats.

“All right I think we need a eng-”

I'd say before getting interrupted by one of the members in the chairs.

“Um Master officer?”

I hear before turning round to look at the crew member.

They looked like a mostly regular human unit besides the glowing red led like eyes and sharper teeth.

“Yes, Private?” I'd ask him before pointing behind me.

With curiosity in my visor I turn to look at the screen.

‘I'm sorry, is that a castle?’ I thought to myself as I saw a supermassive structure.. At first I thought it was some sort of mountain..

So I decided to zoom in via moving a dial on the front control panel.

As it got closer.. I could see unworldly designs like it was made of unknown materials.

I saw glass with the colors of Zro.. purple and blue.

Wait a minute..

My own ocular sensors focused on moving objects at a part of the building’s glass windows..

As they focused I saw the objects somewhat more clearly… they looked vaguely humanoid… some even mammalian and reptilian.. I quickly forced my oculars to reset before attempting to look even closer

Vaguely I’d also see some of the glass windows broken like a shockwave hit them, immediately it then hit me. The shockwave from the ship’s failed ‘landing’ must have created a huge shock wave.

‘If so, why is the crater around the ship so small? Hell the dragoons made a bigger crater.’ I thought to myself before turning back to the crew members.

‘Another thing is.. What or who made that structure… and what were those things moving in the glass.’

I’d think to myself before speaking to the crew members.

“All right new objective, set up communications with the front of the ship” I hastily spoke to them as another thought arose in my head.

‘How in hell are we gonna com with them, maybe we could use the civilian grade radio since they don't use neutron beam coms but common radio wave comes. We should be able to reach the ship's emergency radio emitter and receiver. Let's just hope they activate the emergency resources Protocol.’

I thought before looking back at the crew members.

“All right you two get out of the dragoon and get on top, we can't speak with the other dragoons till coms are online. Once we make contact with the others I'll talk with them and tell them to scout ahead.”

As I spoke I pointed to two privates before making a thumb gesture to go up.

“Yes Sir”

“Yes Sir!”

Both responded with different tones as they then unbuckled out their seats and went over to the ladder to the right of the cockpit.

“The rest of you stay put till further instructions.” I told the other crew members in the cockpit. Before turning my back and using the controls to first slowly turn to face one of the other dragoons.

As they showed up on the screen something felt off…

The heat signatures from the crew members inside were coming from inside of the dragoon.. But they looked like spread out liquid more than anything.. Except for one… But it almost looked like.. their suit was filling up with something as I saw their heat signature expanding.

‘What the hell?’ I thought to myself as I saw the heat signature from the crew member from what I guess was trying to climb out.

“What the hell could be happening in there?” I'd think out loud as I heard confused and concerned murmurs from the other members in the cockpit.

Immediately I went over to the ladder and hastily climbed it. I quickly saw the open hatch and climbed out into the outside of the dragoon.

My attention quickly focused on the top of the other dragoon that was at least a few feet ahead from us.

I could see the crew member come out of the dragoon as my ocular sensors focused on them…

They were covered in.. what looked like melted skin from the waist down and blood seeping out the gaps in their own visor.

“What the actual FUCK!?”

For a second my shock and horror was distracted for a second as I looked over to the private next to me who I guess was looking over in the same direction.

I didn't need to see their face to know their horror.

“Both of you get back in the cockpit NOW!”

I say to the both of them, as they without question went past me and jumped back into the cockpit.

For a second I stood there as I was unable to move..

The crew member was waving their hands sloppily as they without even slowing down their hands immediately dropped over the railing that was on the dragoon’s outer plating, gravity quickly assisted them in granting them at least a quicker death as I saw their neck basically snap off as soon as their head made contact with the ground of the crater.

I nearly winced, as I looked away and grabbed the hatch to our dragoon and placed both of my legs onto the steps and ducked as I closed it.

My metal hands were clenching down hard onto the metal of the ladder..

‘What the hell.. we need to make contact with command ASAP and tell them what is happening…’

I hurriedly though as the warning from the ship's log appeared back in my viser..

‘I thought it was just an energy fluctuation glitch from the ship recalibrating from the crash….’ Another thought then came into my head..

‘I basically killed ourselves by coming down here.. but.. why aren't we dead yet?’ I'd think as I jumped down from the ladder and onto the floor of the cockpit.

My focus then jumped over to the now traumatized privates…

Both seemed to be in disbelief and horror at what they saw, some of the other crew members were confused and some knew what happened from the heat signatures alone… The crew was liquidized by something.

“I don't know what is going on out there, but what I do know is that we can't panic.. I know it's hard to ask.. hell I’m on the verge of panicking! But we need to be soldiers and get communications running as soon as possible.”

I'd say to the crew before seeing one of the traumatized privates turn their head back to me.

“I'll ugh.. fuck go and config-” before they could speak I immediately cut them off.

“No you're not you are going to sit down, same with you over there both of you are staying in sit down and calm yourselves. I don't need puke all of the place and someone who was just traumatized working with coms. Everyone except other mechanical units stay here and work on making sure there are no leaks in the suit, all right you with the gold chain you're going up out the dragoon and configuring the antenna.”

I quickly gave orders to the crew as the two privates sat back down. The mechanical unit wearing the gold chain immediately went over to the ladder and climbed it before opening up the hatch and stepping out the dragoon.

And like clockwork I immediately went over back to the console and briefly looked at the side of the other dragoon, the 3rd one was on the ground.. of the crater we were in… the dragoon most likely fell..

A deep almost organic pain surged in me..

I was responsible for these deaths.. and I myself alone to blame…..

(Finally got this out, sorry if I missed any grammar stuff, hope y'all enjoyed this chapter and sorry if the mana radiation part was a bit gorey anyway love y'all have a great day. Oh as always thank you JCB for making this amazing universe.)

CRASHLANDED CH5

CRASHLANDED CH5

(Well uh huh, did NOT expect to get this far, um thank y'all for the tips and tricks along the way, thank you JCB for making this universe. Soo umm this chapter is gonna be mostly about the Technocracy, which I am excited about. Anyway let's get into this chapter oooooyaaa.

LO: UTST research ecumenopolis New Constantinople, Dark energy research station, the Z-L92 system Time: 1:30 AM Day: March 23rd Thursday 2590 AD

S.A.Q.C.R (Sapient Ai quantum entanglement coms receiver.) Or Resev for short:

Systems have been activated… searching for Prometheus signal…

Error.

-Rechecking.-

Error.

Sapient Ai active.

‘Yawwwn what ya want other me?’

I asked the less sapient side of me as I waited for it to respond.

-No detection of the UTSTS Prometheus's signal.-

‘Maybe it's -yawn- just takin a bit..’

I said with a generated yawn even though I was code and could not be tired, I still did it as it helped me feel human.

-Negative no dark energy string interface.-

‘What do you mean?’ I asked the other side of me as confusion filled my code and my system began to double take by the nanosec.

-Ship nor crew has been detected, potential expo: Drive imploded and turned into a void hollow, or harvested by remaining Unbidden forces outside the Milkyway, the most likely was a space anomaly.-

Even the mere mention of the Unbidden made my virtual back shiver, hopefully it wasn't that. The Technocracy is strong now but we still didn't know if they’d ever come back.

‘The chances of these errors?’ I’d hastily ask them before immediately getting an answer.

-Void hallow outcome: 20% Unbidden fleets outcome: 20% Space anomaly outcome: 60%-

I was thankful that the others were relatively low but what was the anomaly was still a question.

‘What do you think the anomaly could be?’ I questioned the AI but before it responded, I pulled up the data pack from this convo.

-A blackhole: 50% , Space time rip: 1% , worm hole: 48% , dimensional tear caused by Unbidden: 1%.-

The Ai concluded which immediately made me a bit nervous.

‘If it was a black hole the singularity would have been reversed by the S.D.E (singularity destabilizer emitter) on the ship. Space time rip is possible but unlikely considering they wouldn't suck things in, wormholes are the most likely though they are usually visible by their radiation signature and light blues swirls. Why would the Unbidden try to escape this dimension… unless it found another energy source that was near them. Then again unlikely.” I spoke to the Ai before looking at the now completed data packet.

‘Send this to the Minister of Science as well as send it to the Governor of the Dyson computer sector.’ I then ordered the Ai as the packet disappeared.

LO: UTST Urban ecumenopolis shell Port Kengrove (gas giant) , Research station alpha, the Charlomagne system Time: 1:45 AM Day: March 23rd Thursday 2590 AD

Minister of Science Dr. Ivon Nonsiki:

My eyes stare out to the void of space though my window as I sit on my chair, my office cold and almost completely silent besides the occasional sound of people walking by my office.

Unfortunately this silence was interrupted by the sound of a holomail being sent, the sound came from behind me and almost immediately I let out an annoyed sound due to this being the little time I have to myself.

With a push of my foot against the black plating below my foot and rapidly pushing myself to face the greenish blue hologram monitor on my gray desk.

The monitor's screen immediately opened up to my mailbox as my eyes simply grazed over the notification, without a second my eyes darted to the data pack.

As I read the texts within my mood changed drastically to worry and confusion.

‘The public needs to know about this, but without causing widespread panic across the systems. ‘

I'd think to myself before jerking one of my eyes to the left and the mailbox app was exited.

Without a second to lose, I got up off my chair and went over to the conference projector at the side of my office.

With a clean flick of my wrist and a snap of my fingers the lights in the office turned on.

The walls of my office were black as the plating on the floor but the lights made sure to lighten up the room with teal light.

“ Protocol 5 conference call”

I'd speak out loud in front of me as if I was talking to someone, and immediately the project activated and showed a hologram screen.

“Command call Director Yuri Solaris.”

LO: UTST Capital Terra, villa located in orbital ring around Terra and it's shells, Capital system Sol, Time: 1:50 AM Day: March 23rd Thursday 2590 AD

Director General Yuri Solaris:

The day was peaceful and the sky looked down at the outer shell of Terra, despite looking down at the fortress shell the lands of it were a beautiful green mixed with artificial oceans and super massive cities dotting every artificial continent.

“Mmm what a nice night” I spoke to myself as my legs stretched against my balcony's floor.

It was peaceful…. But all peace comes to an end at some point.

‘You have mail’

I hear from my monitor inside my home and with a sigh I get back up and walk inside my home, only to see the projector screen on..

“A long morning this is gonna be…..”

(Hope y'all enjoyed this chapter, sorry if it got cheesy at the end. I was getting unmotivated and I apologize for taking so much time on this chapter. Anyways see y'all next time.)
