Disability accounts
Im being sued by capital one and their merger with discover. I have a joint account with my payee (my mother) and I know that account is federally protected up to 2x the electronically deposited amount. However, I have a separate checking account just in my name that, apparently, can be garnished. My mom gives me $890 monthly and she writes my rent check. My responsibilities include all household bills, food, household necessities, as well as putting maybe $20 left for the month aside since I need 3 surgeries. Bottom line; all of my disability money i need to live. There is nothing left at the end of the month. If they freeze my account, they can't take all that money, right? Maybe a percentage? ANY input here is more than welcome. Thanks in advance.
