Is Amazon Canada and ASL Distribution serious?

Hi All,

I am located in Austria, my daughter will be visiting Canada soon for a 6 Month school exchange. I have been trying to buy some items she will need through Amazon Canada and have them shipped directly to the school in Montreal, however now after the 3rd , yes third attempt I am not sure it is worthwhile to keep trying. I place the order, the order is shipped throught "ASL Distribution", and then within a few days I am informed that the order is being returned to the seller for whatever reason. I reorder the items but the same just happens again. 3 times now!

Can somebody local please explain if this muppet show is typical of Amazon in Canada? Have you had similar experiences? Any advice would also be appreciated.

Many thanks and regards from the Alps.

Help with shimano lever and saddle angle

Hi all,

could really use your support. I have bought my first gravel bike, Canyon Grizl 7 CF ESC with the full mounty handlebar. I love the bike and have never ridden so much in my life.

Q1: the shimano gear changer has a lever with 2 positions. what does this lever do and what is the correct position for normal riding? I have ridden the bike with the lever in both positions and honestly i cant feel any difference!

Q2: i feel like I slip forward in the saddle increasing the pressure on my hands. is there any way to adjust the angle of the saddle? As far as I can tell it is only possible to slide the saddle back and forth but not adjust the angle.

Thanks in advance!

Grizl 7 CF ESC. Which tires?

Hi All,

this is my first post here so a quick intro. My name is Martin, originally from the UK but living in the Vorarlberg region of Austria since 2001. Free time activities including running, hiking, paragliding and family.

I am running a marathon in October, but with the recent heatwave (dont know if you noticed :o), running training has become unbearable. A friend of mine suggested I get a bike because with the headwind you dont feel the heat as much. I did have a citybike at home already, one i bought in 2004 still with the original tires with good tread depth (that shows how much I ride it), but I decided to take the gravel plunge and have not looked back.

I ride 80% asphalt, the rest on well prepared pathways and very light gravel.

What tires would you recommend to replace the Schwalbe Overland 45mm which the bike came with?

I am running tubed and generally never ride in wet conditions, my priorities are more speed on the road, good grip on light gravel/paths and very good puncture protection.

Many thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Kind regards from the Alps!

So after alot of research I finally decided to invest in a pair of new Altras for my hike and fly paragliding adventures. I live in the Alps and need a solid pair of shoes with secure foothold, comfortable on long treks with a 10kg backpack on very mixed terrain, from grass meadows to rocky mountain tracks. I was not sure whether to take the LP9+ or the new timp 6. Stability is extremely important for the backpack hike but also launching and landing the paraglider off the beaten track without rolling an ankle. The lower stack height and wider base made the LP more favourable. I just completed 2 short hike and fly sessions of about 5km with 1000m elevation and the shoes feel fantastic. I highly recommend these for H&F and think I will be retiring my hiking boots. In addition, the black/orange colorway looks freakin awesome!!! Great job Altra. For my trail runs I still use my Wild2 which I also love.
