Update: Bleeding 8 Months Post Op

Had my appointment with my surgeon today for my issue of bleeding during/after sex and feelings of pressure/heaviness for a day or two after sex.

Diagnosis: Granulation tissue on the vaginal cuff and vaginal atrophy.

Treatment: Cauterized the granulation tissue with silver nitrate in the office. To start using the estrogen cream every day for 2 weeks, then 2-3 times a week.
No sex for a week, then continue normally and see how it feels.

I’m a little crampy now( how I can be crampy with no uterus to cramp is beyond me 🤣) so I’m laying on the couch for a bit. No tears, rips, openings were seen on the cuff and everything looks great except that granulation.

Hello again!

I am almost 8 months post surgery. Took everything but the ovaries.

I am STILL experiencing bleeding during sex and for a day or two after sex. And it’s not like we are having Olympic style sex over here. Just normal sex. Nothing rough. I’m not bleeding bad but it is bright red. And for a day or two after when I wipe after the bathroom it’s red on the toilet paper. I’m also experiencing a heaviness feeling afterwards. Even if I orgasm alone I feel the heaviness but not as bad or for as long. After sex the heaviness can last a couple days.

I’m trying to give my body grace and let it do its thing but im tired of bleeding when I have sex. It’s NOT a turn on for me. Makes me not want to have sex. I will contact my surgeon if it continues but just wanted to see if anyone else experienced similar.

Side note: I did discontinue use of the estrogen cream 3 months after surgery. Hormone panels confirmed my ovaries are working. Lubrication isn’t an issue, no problems there.
