branches with medium ish workload during and after residency?

are there any specialities where i get to sleep 8 hours a day consistently everyday? i genuinely can’t function without sleep because i start getting really bad headaches and i get nauseous too so surgical branches along with gen meds is def a no. don’t want radio or derm because ai and extreme competition. what would be a good option for me? as long as the pay is decent i’m good because i want to do ss too.

Does yog even matter if i’m clinically active?

ive completed my home country residency (immediately after med school, no gaps there) and i have been practising since, i’ve never taken an actual break and have always been clinically active and i have also passed all the steps with good scores on my first attempt within 6 years and i have also published a couple of papers and have been volunteering as well (my goal is paediatrics). i also have 3 us lors (2 peds, 1 IM) and my yog will be 6 by the time i match and start residency (if i do that is)

are my chances really that bad? should i even apply?

edit: im visa requiring and i don’t have any connections

how bad is a YOG 7?

non us visa requiring img

step 1 pass

step 2 260+

step 3 230+

3 months usce in peds (3 us lors + 1 home country lor)

4 pubs

im an anaesthesiologist in my home country and im thinking about applying to peds only (i also have volunteer experience in it)

should i even bother applying this year? especially since most programs are gonna filter me out anyway? i’m honestly really anxious and feeling pretty conflicted right now.

i won’t make it this time, i’m scoring 340-350 in bio and 100 ish in chemistry and i’m zero in physics and physical chem besides mole concept and atomic structure. since i won’t get govt mbbs my parents are planning to put me in private bsc nursing. there’s no changing their mind so that’s not an option. i only need to revise what i know and do physical chemistry along with physics.

is it doable without failing in nursing i just want to pass? i’ll spend most of my time at home studying the remaining portion and i’ll revise bio, ioc and oc during class hours. the college is only 15 minutes away

qualifications: 85% in class 10, 92% in class 12
