My student visa expires on the 22nd(not this month, fyi), graduation is on the 23rd. I know re-entering AFTER visa expiry with an ETA is possible.

My issue is that i cant do the back&forth overseas trip on the 22nd-23rd, so im trying to do the trip EARLIER on(say 6-8th), apply for ETA, and enter the UK with the ETA instead of the student visa. (So that i can stay past the 22nd without having to exit and re-enter)

Some sources (including my school’s visa team) have advised that manual override at the discretion of the Border Officer is possible but i need to make a decision now and cant just ‘try it out’ on the day itself.

Is there anyone who’s had similar experiences/ or have information regarding whether this is possible?
