I have a nine month old unspayed show golden that I’ve had since she was nine weeks old (Lily). At dog parks, with groups of dogs, Lily behaves herself. But when she’s with my parents 9yo lab Boo (who is double her size) Lily bullies her. Or at least that’s what I think is happening? Lily uses Boo as a launchpad, and runs around her like a herding dog (trying to dictate where she goes in her own backyard) barking nonstop. It makes my Boo really angry, and she growls and snaps at my puppy so we separated them. It’s like each time they interact it gets worse. When we go to the dog park, Lily doesn’t do this, so I’m guessing it’s because she doesn’t know the other dogs? She doesn’t hang out with other dogs one on one aside from boo. Boo is very friendly and has a lot of other dog friends that she hangs out with one on one, and does great with.
Why is my puppy acting like this?
