I had a campus visit interview for a TTAP position a bit more than a week ago and I know I am the last candidate, and I assume they may have met last week to discuss candidates. I have not heard anything from them so far.

I have another offer that I need to decide on by next week. Would it be appropriate to email the search committee chair now to ask about the status of the search?

I’m a bit worried that this might come across as too pushy and leave a negative impression, given that it has only been a little over a week since the last campus visit.

If I do email the search committee chair, should I mention that I have another offer with a deadline next week?
