Two types of demons

In my story, I have two types of demons: primal demons, who have co‑existed with humans from the beginning, and hellborn demons, who are created from fear, torture, and a desire for revenge.

I made these two species because I wanted my own original demons to be natives of the world rather than beings from Hell, so I decided to split them into two distinct types.

Now I’m going to share a story. Enjoy 😉

Humans, elves, dwarves, fae, and the other species of my world, Xandai, feared the primals because of their unnatural power and appearance. The other cultures of the world easily outnumbered them, but primals were ten times stronger than all of them. Most primals lived peacefully with the other species; however, some grew to despise the others for mistreating them and treating them like a plague.

There are two primal leaders whom all demons respect and fear. They ensure that peace is maintained between them all. However, one of the leaders falls in love with a paladin’s daughter. The paladin, already wary of demons, at first doesn’t believe the rumors — but when he learns the truth, he becomes convinced the leader is corrupting both his people and his daughter.

Driven by fear and righteousness, he gathers his divine parties and slaughters half of the primal population. The leaders create a portal to save the last remaining survivors. A small group chooses to stay behind and fight for their own. The leaders can do nothing but save those who cannot fight back. The ones who remain stay isolated or hidden from the world, remembered only as demons.

Please let me know what you think 😊
