Songs about loving someone at the wrong time / complicated feelings?
So I recently became close with a friend and we both ended up liking each other more than we should have.
She’s been in an 8-year relationship and lives with her boyfriend. A few months after we talked honestly about our feelings, she broke up with him — not because of me, but because they’d already had long-term issues with arguments and communication long before she met me, and shes been the one trying really hard to sort it.
A couple of days later, he convinced her to give the relationship one last try, saying he’d change, and she decided to go back. She apologised to me and said she didn’t want to have any second thoughts/second guesses about him later if we explored things further.
To be fair to her, she’s been really honest, open, and communicative throughout all of this, and I genuinely respect her for that.
I decided to put our feelings aside for now and stay friends instead of cutting her off. It’s painful at times, but I still genuinely enjoy spending time with her.
Not really looking for advice or opinions on the situation — i've already had open conversations about boundaries which need to be placed and where I stand. I’m mainly just looking for songs that capture this kind of feeling or situation which i can listen too
