Solo road trip

Planning on doing a solo road trip, first stop in Canmore then up to Jasper. Looking for the (hidden) gems to stop and take a look/hike at along the way.

Will be bouncing between hostels/hotels/air bnb, I welcome any “cheap” suggestions in the area! Gonna be there for about 8-10 nights, haven’t set anything in stone. Will be looking for the sweet spots for food as well, and I’m not talking any fancy or super popular spot, I mean some hearty or locally run spots.

I’m a first timer so please let me know any other important things to know as a solo traveler through these areas!
