Hey everyone,
I need some honest direction because at this point I feel like I’m just going in circles.
I have a Master’s degree in English Language and Literature, and I’ve been working for 5 years as a Transaction Coordinator/Operations in a real estate company. My work is mostly admin and compliance - onboarding/offboarding agents, reviewing contracts and documents, coordinating between different parties, and making sure everything follows process and legal requirements.
I’ve also finished German at B1 level, and I’m continuing to improve.
The problem is: I’ve been applying for jobs in Germany pretty much every day for the past two years, and nothing serious has worked out. At most, I get ignored or rejected.
So clearly, I’m doing something wrong or missing something.
I need straight answers:
-Am I targeting the wrong roles? If yes, what should I actually be searching for?
-Is my background even relevant for the German job market?
-How realistic is it to get an admin/office job from abroad with B1 German?
-Do I need to be in Germany already for companies to even consider me?
-Is there a smarter path into the market that I’m not seeing?
I’m not expecting easy solutions, I just want to understand what actually works because what I’m doing right now clearly isn’t it.
If anyone has real experience or insight, I’d seriously appreciate it.
Thanks.
