Am I the only one who ships Chai and Peppermint?
So I just got done playing Hi-Fi Rush and it’s an absolutely incredible game. Really hope we get more of these characters.
I also came out of this game really adoring the dynamic of Chai and Peppermint and honestly really shipping it.
From what I’ve seen though that doesn’t seem to be a very popular pairing. I’ve seen a lot of people say they see them like siblings and I understand that but I was getting more of journey to best friends and then maybe something more. However the game never explicitly treats this as romantic.
What the game does explicity treat as romantic is that Peppermint 100% has a crush on Korsica. She blushes when Korsica admires her work and they have that moment in the final cutscene where Korsica winks at her and she blushes and then she tries to get closer before Chai comes in accidentally interrupting.
I think that dynamic is cute to but even though that pairing is much more explicitly hinted it, I just felt a lot more chemistry between her and Chai. The way their relationship evolved into caring about each other throughout the game was just so sweet and had me shipping them so hard.
Though I honestly felt there was something slightly between Chai and Korsica too so IDK, maybe just have them all date each other, that’d be very cute and funny.
Anyway, is there anyone else here who likes this pairing (or all 3 of them together even)? I’m really curious to see if Chai X Peppermint has any significant fan content or simply just people in the fandom who enjoy it.
