Best tankless under sink RO *NOT WATERDROP*
Our municipal water has been testing very very high for PFAS (many times higher than EPA limit).
So, we need a Reverse Osmosis system.
Almost exactly 1 year ago, I bought a Waterdrop G5P500 under sink RO filter for $250.
We were super happy with it. We changed the CF filter at 6 months, as instructed.
But when we replaced it again a few days ago, suddenly, it will not work at all.
The system itself and all replacement filters were purchased directly from Waterdrop. We followed all of their instructions to a T, including all of the steps their AI system gave us for troubleshooting. My husband completely disconnected it from all the lines, triple checked every single line and connection, and everything looks fine.
We are CERTAIN that the new filter they sent us must have been faulty and caused the problem, since the system was working fine literally the morning before we changed the filter, then as soon as we did, it won't work. We even tried putting the old filter back in and it still doesn't work. We have unplugged it and reset it countless times.
I feel pretty certain that something inside the new filter must have gotten into either the RO filter or somewhere else in the unit when we tried to run it, and now the whole thing is ruined.
When we try to turn it on now, it rumbles and shakes loudly (which it never did before), and NO WATER comes out of the faucet. Again, all lines were checked and it was working just fine before replacing filter.
Obviously, Waterdrop customer service is completely nonexistent.
So at this point, our only real option seems to be to find a brand new filtration system.
We are looking for:
Under sink
Tankless
Reverse osmosis
A company that actually has at least sort of decent customer service and will try to rectify problems if they send us a faulty product.
Initial cost under $550
Does this exist? For the record, I searched through this sub reddit for answers first, but so far, most of recommendations I've seen don't fit all 5 criteria above.
