Not speed running just completing it

Is it ok to use assist mode to get moons or for practicing jumps?

I ask because for some Mario games if you use an easier mode it removes sparkles in the menu from stars if you use an easy mode. I don’t want to remove a flair or whatever If I use assist mode.
