we know that, if nationalist spain goes "sin paquito", Franco can end up as a general for the republicans and fight against the insurgents. so i thought that it would be interesting (and definitely wacky) to have him as a possible secret leader if the republicans win the civil war. something like him trying to coup the government when anticlerical focuses are completed (like "appropriate church riches") and leading spain throughout the war, maybe with a little branch as well to negotiate with the allies (you could get gibraltar from the british, morocco from the french or the philippines/puerto rico from the US in exchange for you joining the war against the axis) and then giving up powers after the end of the war (like the new czechoslovakia branch)
i don't know, i was just thinking about how it was funny that franco could fight for the republicans and then my mind went to "how cursed would it be for him to be a possible leader for republican spain as well?"
