Tomato plant died. Is it too hot or too late to plant a new one? (SoCal-10b)

First year growing and it's not going good. Lost my Super Sweet. It's been consistently 85F to 95F days out. Is it too hot (and or too late in the season) to plant another? I would plant it in the same 10gal fabric bag that the other was in.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

My Zone is 10b if that helps at all.
