How do the resort staff keep track of which room each guest is staying in?
I’m staying at a luxury resort in Santorini with approximately 20 rooms. The past couple of days, I’ve enjoyed rosé from an infinity pool overlooking the caldera (as one does), but I haven’t once been asked for my name or room number for the bar charges. I haven’t checked out yet, but I fully expect incidentals will be accounted for on the final folio. My question is: without having given the bartenders any personally identifiable information, how do they know which room to bill the charges to? Just curious if anyone knows whether they’re just using AI facial recognition, or if the process is more intricate than that.
