Life of regret - (2nd draft)

For if I had laid a seed for every person I have ever met,
all the seeds would die,
as I would always forget to water them.

Then there was one.
That needed no watering.
It stood in my garden.

But its petals dried,
and I lived forever aching
for it to rise again.

Now my garden is full of life,
but the one I still miss,
none can seem to match its light.

Oh flower, forgive me,
for I lived in neglect.
See me now.
See me now.
See me now.

Where are you, flower?
Waving gracefully in somebody else’s bed?
I pray I never find you,
for that would be the end of this life of regret.

Do you still look at the sun when I do?
Do I live another day for the chance to see you?

I stood beneath the sun, no rain, no clouds.
I am feeling what you felt.

Flower, do you forgive me now?
See me now.
See me now.
See me now.

I WAS SELFISH, OH FLOWER.
I WAS FILLED WITH PRIDE.

I missed your beauty, under the shadow of my pride.

What a fool I am,
dreaming of closeness
while I let your roots grow dry.

This guilt so heavy
even the gods denied to bear.

I am now a man
with just another garden,
full of colors,
lacking a soul.

Oh dear flower,
see me now.

Butterfly, oh Bee,
please land within my garden.

Let there be life.
Let there be love.
Let there be closeness,
only for those who dare.

Oh dear flower,
see me now.

Oh flower, do you know of
THE NIGHTS I HAVE RAGED,
THE TIMES I WISHED TO BURN IT ALL?

And still I waited.
See me now.

A garden without you
is a man without soul.

Oh my flower,
free me now.

I will water my garden
without thinking of you.

But when I do,

Oh flower,
see me now.
