JBVNL Smart Meter Scam: My bill just TRIPLED, and it's charging me for a locked house!
Ever since JBVNL forcefully installed the new Smart Meter at my place, my daily consumption skyrocketed to 3x the usual amount—with the exact same appliances.
Before Smart Meter: 3–4 units/day
After Smart Meter: 8–9 units/day
To check if I was going crazy, my family went out for the entire day. I manually switched off every single plug, including the refrigerator. The house was totally locked down and dead silent.
The result? The meter still consumed 3.5 units between 9 AM and 8 PM. For an empty house.

JBVNL just boasted a massive 95% billing efficiency and raked in a record-breaking ₹468.52 crore in revenue in a single month, aiming for ₹500 crore next.
They aren't improving infrastructure; they are just squeezing these "record collections" straight out of rigged meters.
