Friends mom told me she has an 8 seater that she puts vinegar and baking soda in. She said she doesn't check levels ever, and drains 4x a year. She said, "I'm clean and the only person using it"

THEN my mom told me she fills hers with Texas hill country well water and only adds chlorine a few times a year.

They are both making fun of me for taking my water in to get tested, buying a Taylor testing kit and being so anal in general.

I tried explaining to them how dangerous it is and they laughed at me.

My question is...wtf, how are they able to do this for YEARS without any consequences and please convince me I am doing the right thing by researching.
