Skybell video doorbell keeps failing, need to replace

Our video doorbell connection keeps failing and I’m hoping someone can help me understand how my current doorbell setup works before I replace it.

I have an alarm.com system with a SkyBell video doorbell that a technician installed when we moved in. I believe he added wiring because there wasn’t a doorbell there before.

Here’s what’s confusing me:

In our previous house, the doorbell wiring didn’t have a wall plug in-it was tied into the electrical system, and the only way to shut it off was the circuit breaker.

In this house, there’s a wall outlet in the garage with a plug-in transformer that powers the doorbell that the technician set up and he would always tell us to unplug/replug it when troubleshooting.

Because we’ve had constant connectivity issues, and the technician has very poor communication I want to switch to something like Eufy or Aosu that I can manage myself.

I'm wondering if I should go with a wired or battery option.

Since the wiring already exists, it seems like that would be a good option but I didn't know if that plug in setup is specific to the SkyBell or alarm.com system? Would I possibly deal with the same connectivity issues?

Would a battery doorbell be simpler/more reliable in this situation?

Any advice would be appreciated.

My body cannot handle being back in the office full time, I am now in chronic pain and I don't know what to do

I was working from home for 4 years and had a great situation until my beloved boss left and I got a new boss. She was a toxic nightmare to work for so I began an aggressive job search and accepted that I would have to go back into the office. I was hoping to find a hybrid job, but was only able to find a full time in office job which I started in January. I have been having severe back pain, tailbone, hip pain, and thigh pain that is becoming impossible to manage. I did often struggle with some back pain from time to time in the past but I never imagined it would become this intolerable. I have mild scoliosis, a minor leg length discrepancy, and a tilted pelvis which is likely a contributing factor. I am healthy weight and am an active person, albeit not quite as fit recently as I used to be.

First I had a very basic office chair that was provided and I felt it was causing me tailbone and lower back pain so I decided to bring in my chair from home which is a herman miller mirra 2. It's a high quality chair but I think it is really wrong for me as it seemed to make everything worse and cause the very intolerable hip and thigh pain. It was my home office chair for 4 years but I guess I never sat it in as long as I am doing now. I am going to go shopping for another office chair today but I am worried about picking out another one that isn't right for me.

I do have a standing desk converter and take frequent standing breaks and walking breaks too. But my body is having such a hard time with all the extra sitting and not getting to lie down as much throughout the day. I am not even getting a ton of relief over the weekend. I have seen 2 doctors which have referred me to physical therapy which took a while to schedule but I am starting next week.

I have asked if I can have some WFH time. Some of the staff that's been there longer have 2 days a week, including my direct supervisor. She is encouraging of it but my department head is against it. I am thinking of going to HR to confirm if my department head is allowed to veto it like that when I possibly have a need for a medical accommodation.

I am in so much pain every day, I am really at my wit's end. I don't know if getting a new chair and PT will fix this without some time away from work. I do have a short term disability benefit but I'm not sure the specifics. I don't know whether I'm going to have to quit my job because I can't handle sitting in a chair like a normal person. I am beginning to apply elsewhere as I'm getting close to the 6 month mark which is still hard to explain but I might as well try. I know it will be really hard to find another fully remote job but I would be happy with hybrid at this point. I appreciate any advice, I don't know what to do. I am having so much difficulty getting through the day and my pain is affecting my life outside work.

Does anyone else have trouble with the northbound intersection at Central Avenue and 9th Street?

The lanes do not line up clearly through the intersection, creating a confusing situation. I have nearly been involved in accidents because of it.

The second lane from the left is permitted to go straight, but you have drift slightly to the right to avoid the median, which is not obvious to drivers in the lane over. And because the lane alignment through the intersection is unclear, cars in the first straight‑only lane often drift left, directly into the path of vehicles continuing straight from the adjacent lane.

With all the bridge exit closures, this is my new path every day and it is driving me crazy.

I called 311 to request painted guidance lines through the intersection, but I was told that intersection lines are not done downtown which I don't think is true at all. I don't know them offhand but I know there are multiple examples downtown where guidance lines are used when lanes shift or are offset.

Has anyone else experienced issues at this intersection? I know it can benefit if there are multiple calls if anyone else is willing to back up my request.
