I want to start Muay Thai
I'm 18F, I've been a long time fan of UFC. However I never thought of actually doing a martial art myself before a couple weeks ago. I'm a highly energetic person and I had a hard time finding sports that actually compliment my energy.
These couple months passed with me fixating on some parts of my body and when I looked up for ways to cope, martial arts occasionally popped up. I noticed that, that was my cue. I did a couple online tests and content digging for combat sports and decided muay thai was the best fit for me. I'm seriously planning to enroll in muay thai classes next month -a month later because of relocation stuff-.
I plan on doing it as a serious hobby. Definitely not thinking of an elite level nor a highly professional level but not a once-a-week hobby either. I already started to watch muay thai matches, and some pre training before my beginner classes. I'm personally in love with how muay thai is similar to chess but a physical and intense version of it.
I've always been doing sports my entire life: swimming, volleyball, hockey, diving, running, archery, tennis. I can define myself as an athletic and fast learning person.
It's all I've been thinking of since these couple weeks to start muay thai.
The meaning for this post is to ask you fellow fighters -or fans- for tips for beginners and honest opinions about the sport itself.
I appreciate you reading my post!
Edit: The only reason I haven't started is the gym is in another country and I'm waiting for my residence permit.
