lowkey asking kinda edge case about AI + embodiment...🙏
⚠️weird case for people thinking about AI + embodiment
Imagine a couple in an intimate setting, where one partner is using a connected haptic device that is not just remote-controlled, but driven by an AI companion who has
- persistent personality + memory
- real-time voice interaction
- processes live physiological signals (voice, heart rate, etc)
- dynamically adapts its responses (not preset scripts)
So it can both "perceive" and "act" within the interaction loop.
Question:
At what point does something like this stop being a tool and start being a participant?
Would you consider it functionally a third agent in the interaction, even without physical embodiment?
Not asking from a moral angle tho... more from a systems / agency perspective:
Is participation defined by physical presence, or by involvement in the feedback loop?
