FSA at Merrill Lynch → JPM Private Client Advisor within the year — insights?

Hey all — I’m 22, currently a Financial Solutions Advisor at Merrill Lynch, about two months in. Long-term goal is to become a private wealth advisor, and I’m looking to make a move to JP Morgan’s Private Client Advisor role sooner rather than later realistically within the next year, maybe sooner if the opportunity’s right.

I know that’s early, but I’d rather plan the move deliberately than wait and figure it out later. Would love insight from anyone who’s done this or knows the space:

Is under a year at Merrill enough tenure to make this jump, or does it usually take longer to be considered competitive for PCA?

How does comp compare early on, PCA vs FSA?

Are production goals more attainable at JPM vs Merrill?

What does the timeline to becoming a full on private wealth advisor at JPMC from this role?

Trying to be strategic about the timing rather than just jumping ship. Appreciate any real talk, especially from people who’ve made this exact move or been on the hiring side.

Need some advice

I’m 22 just graduated college and work at Merrill as an FSA. Been in the role for about a 6 weeks don’t plan to stay long term this was more of a stepping stone. I’m fully licensed (sie, 7, 66) and have CRPC. Goal is to be a private wealth advisor long term wondering what the next best role I should look for is & what type of firms. Thanks.

Passed this morning!

Finally can say I am done after passing all 3 exams first try! Exam was definitely tricky I would say the options questions were pretty free, had a lot of what would a rr do questions, 2-3 margin questions which were all about how much can blank drop to keep minimum maintance in the account. Overall was feeling 50/50 submitting definitely a few point and clicks but glad it’s finally over! CRPC next.

Passperfect vs real exam

I’m taking exam next week and scoring mid 70s on passperect practice exams. I feel like the language and overall complexity of these questions are insane. Is the real exam easier and more straight forward ?

Pay it forward

Hey community-

I just started studying today my firm uses pass perfect. Wanted to know what our thoughts are on it and how much math is on the actual exam? If anyone has used pass perfect what units do I need to hammer? Thanks

Series 66 and series 7 content overlap

Hi all-

I just passed the series 66 (haven’t taken the 7) I am about to start studying for the 7 when I start work with my employer and was wondering if there a significant amount of overlap in material between the two and what exam is harder ?

Passed first try this morning

Hey everybody-

I’ve definitely been super active in this group the last few weeks while preparing and I’m relieved and happy to share I passed first try this morning! Test wasn’t as bad as a lot of people on here make it seem, a lot of those right off the dome answers 1 click and move on questions. 3/4 math questions, one was the premium one from Ken’s brutal exam. A lot of prospectus requirements when it needs to be delivered maybe 3 or 4 about joint accounts. Overall finished in about an hour 10. Was scoring high 70s low 80s on Kaplan sim exams and scored a 74 on the mastery a few days before test day. Be confident you got this!

Need advice

For those who have taken exam and used Kaplan, what units should I hammer and on Kaplan questions there are answers where you have to choose multiple correct answers.. ex I & II. Is that style on the exam? Is the actual thing harder than Kaplan?
