[Las Vegas, NV] Moving out of a biohazard house.
I just moved out of a room I was renting in a house in North Las Vegas, Nevada. The landlord lives in the home, and over the time I lived there, the conditions deteriorated into a severe safety and health hazard. I am officially moved out and handed over the keys, but I am trying to figure out the best way to report him to the city.
Here are the main issues:
Extreme Hoarding/Fire Hazard: The garage is packed floor-to-ceiling with cardboard boxes, combustible materials, and trash, completely blocking access and creating a massive fire hazard.
Biohazard/Sanitation: The backyard is completely covered in hundreds of piles of dog feces (both fresh and calcified). It's a major pest harborage and smells terrible.
Animal Neglect: The dogs living there are not being groomed or properly cared for and are forced to live in that feces-filled yard.
Hostile Behavior: Toward the end of my stay, he became highly aggressive, slamming doors and threatening violence when I brought up moving out.
Has anyone dealt with reporting a landlord for public nuisance/health violations in Clark County, and what was the process like?
Any advice on how to navigate this strategically would be greatly appreciated
