Advice - forehead skinscars

Hello everyone,

I've been following this page for a year now, but I've never seen any feedback or advice about scars on the forehead and between the eyes.

For a little background, I used to wash my face with hand soap... A year ago, I became aware of my acne scars. I had been picking at my skin for a long time without really paying attention, which led to some very unpleasant moments during my teenage years. After that, my acne calmed down, and I continued to treat the few pimples that appeared the same way.

I'm 25 now, and I started a skincare routine a year ago. At first, I started gently, without active ingredients, just sunscreen, moisturizer, and a gentle cleanser.

Suddenly, I developed numerous closed blackheads. I was then diagnosed with comedones. I've been using Epiduo for two months now and it seems to be working.

However, I've noticed my skin deteriorating and becoming increasingly textured over the past year (without using Epiduo). My scars on my forehead (which are very small) are becoming more and more visible, and overall, they look really bad and make me extremely self-conscious.

I don't dare look people in the eye anymore, etc.

I saw a dermatologist who suggested three CO2 laser sessions. It's an investment, so I wanted to get some feedback on other potential techniques: microneedling, peels, retinoids in the long term, etc. My skin is generally very textured, so with lots of small scars on top of that, it's a bit of a disaster...

I've smoked since I was 17, which has clearly played a role. So I've also decided to quit, to give myself a chance to maybe one day have skin that makes me happy.

Advice? Tips? A miracle cure? A success story?

I've lost all confidence in myself, every time I pass a mirror, I disgust myself.
