This is regarding Northern Ireland Law for reference .

Hi everyone, I was just wanting to post to see your options on if i have legal standing for a medical negligence suit.

It all started when i was around 13 years old, i was admitted to the hospital after having a spell of extreme pain in my lower abdomen so severe i blacked out, i was sent home 3 days later with no results.

I was very late to getting my period(TMI i’m sorry) but when it came at 15 they were horrible, i presented with every symptom of endometriosis you could possibly think of but my doctors and hospital continually failed to refer me to appropriate services, I would be bedridden unable to move properly due to the pain I was in leading to me attending the doctors every single month from the time i turned 15 until now.

Fast forward 3 years (18 years old) i finally get a referral but this referral was not to gynaecology it was to Xray, they did one ultrasound and because they did not see anything i was discharged(endometriosis is not detected on a ultrasound) that was the only time i had ever been scanned or examined properly, the only care solution they gave me was painkillers which then lead to me being dependent on them.

My symptoms continued to progress now leading to not being able to control my bladder, blacking out from pain, affected mobility and incapability to work due to not being able to leave my bed when having a severe flare up. I finally now at the age of 24 got a referral to gynaecology, the did an exploratory laparoscopy which has revealed stage 4 endometriosis with such severe and catastrophic damage i have to have a partial hysterectomy at 24 years of age, i also have uterine fibroids, adenomyosis and chronic pelvic inflammatory disease. I am 24 years old, i should not even have to dream about a surgery this massive that will affect my chances of ever having a baby all because they did not follow proper protocol for 11 years worth of monthly doctor visits, hospital visits…

Do you think i have a case? TIA
