Do the third party grips for the Zf completely make up for the ergonomic deficiency in the body or are users still making a compromise to get that vintage feel?
I know this is subjective but curious people’s experiences. I am looking to finally upgrade from my DSLR and I am a fan of more dials and the vintage vibe of the Zf but when I went to a store and held it, I hated how it felt in my hand and fear that would make me not want to carry it around as much. In listening to so many reviews prior comparing the Zf and z6iii, so many photographers say the Zf is just more fun to them. I unfortunately can’t really test out the Zf with a third party grip unless I buy the grip outright and rent a Zf (which I may do). I don’t really want to have to rely on a 3m adhesive thumb grip and a screw on front grip to make the camera feel ok, so I’m inclined to just axe the Zf from my list, but I’d like to know if others had a similar thought process and ended up loving the Zf with the added grips or if any end up not reaching for the Zf as much because they find it uncomfortable.
I have small hands and find a proper grip important even on large smartphones. If the case is too smooth I be dropping my phone all the time - I would not want to drop my larger mass camera.
