The Inquisitorial Rosette
The big Is are carrying this famous Rosette, which instantly strikes fear into the hearts of any Imperial citizens.
But:
If it's so powerful, and there are untold billions of humans in the Imperium, including lots of people with nothing to lose and some outright with evil motives,
why isn't the Rosette falsified commonly? I'm assuming the average Imperial idiot couldn't differentiate between a fake and real one without expensive tech, tech you won't find on the average downhive, mining or agri world etc. Sure if some Arbites come along you'll end up begging for death, but that's not a big issue for many miscreants on a death sentence already.
Given the law of large numbers, there should be thousands of desperate people trying their luck for each true Inquisitor or powerful acolyte with a true rosette. So the moment you pull one out in the big scary reveal, I'd except the Imperial citizen to laugh in your face and tell you to go ahead, order exterminatus on me.
