ADOBE for print Figma for Digital?
I am creating a multi-brand design system that my agency will maintain for a few clients. Typically, they all want something in Figma to create their digital assets like web and social media things. The issue is they also want to use Figma for print, and we’re heavily advising against it since CMYK control is completely missing in Figma. They also want to have assets they can use in After Effects for animation, and of course, there are a few designers that use it in design. We are recommending a parallel design system with the one source of truth being Figma and the one following suit: Adobe CC libraries for Adobe tools. We will create the parody and maintain those two systems. Figma will be much more detailed with things like units, radius, shadows, gradient, and all those fine details, while Adobe will only be colors, fonts, logos, and icons.
Has anyone ever experienced this split? I just wish Adobe could’ve merged with Figma, and we wouldn’t have to be doing this.
