Glacier National Park sleeping arrangements
My boyfriend and I are going to GNP in late July for 5 nights. We’re planning on doing several hikes, a day of horseback riding (with an outfitter) and exploring local towns. We’re debating camping for 2 of the 5 nights just to cut down on hotel costs a bit… we’ll have a rental car so we can go get a tent, sleeping bags etc. just the necessities because we fly home & can’t bring all that extra luggage.
We plan to hike Grinnell Glacier one day then Lake McDonald the next, so we want to camp close to each trailhead if possible (closer than any hotel at least). Is it even worth it to camp? Especially if we’ll have to buy the tent/sleeping bags/etc & only use for 2 nights? We’re not usually campers but have done our fair share of camping previously. I’d like to be able to shower each night though so I’m going back and forth…
If you have any hotel recommendations close to the trailheads that are less than $250-300 per night I’m also open to that!
