I originally wanted invisalign only for my bottom teeth because honestly… my top teeth never really bothered me that much 😭

But my orthodontist said that’s usually not how it works and that even if the crowding is mainly on the bottom, the top teeth still need to move with them so the bite stays aligned properly.

I even asked if I could maybe start with just the botton tray and then eventually wear the top tray toward the end since the lowers are way worse for me (I got 43 trays total 💀), but he basically said I’d need both upper and lower trays throughout treatment.

I actually was surpised by this to be honest. makes no sense to me.

did anyone here actually get invisalign only on one arch? or did your ortho also insist on both?
