Elevated DHEA Sulfate Levels

I haven’t been officially diagnosed with PCOS yet but my endocrinologist is suspecting it. I’ve had two vaginal ultrasounds that were normal. However, my hormone bloodwork has consistently shown elevated DHEA sulfate levels. Supposedly this can be an indicator of pcos. My other hormone levels were in range. For reference my symptoms have all started being in my 30’s which include hair growth under chin and chest area, irregular periods (still get one each month but long cycles) and abdominal pain/feeling sick during ovulation. I also get weird food aversions and will get nauseous unwell feeling in warm environments. I used to only feel awful right before my period but now it’s more frequent throughout the month. Even right after my period I will feel sick now. My bleeding isn’t as heavy from when I was younger but still get bad cramps and lightheaded. My gynecologist suggested taking birth control to bring the elevated DHEA levels down. I was on loestrin BC when I was 18-21 just for not getting pregnant. I tried taking I think the same kind at 26 again to not get pregnant and it made me feel awful so stopped after a couple of months. Now I’m 34 and considering to try taking it now to manage my symptoms. Has anyone had success taking birth control to manage pcos symptoms? Specifically hair growth and feeling sick during my cycle are the main issues. My endocrinologist said he could put me on metaformin but I don’t have issues with my weight.
