I have a relatively new garden (coming up on year 3) and last fall my neighbor blew a bunch of leaves onto my garden. Then my dad put a load of top soil on top of it. I thought it was compost so I wasn’t worried, but now come spring, it is hard as a rock!
Should I till it all together? Should I remove the leaves in the middle layer (native ground —> leaves —> top soil)? Or something else? Any thoughts are welcome!
