Tour operator visiting Turkey regularly – ikamet needed?
Hi everyone,
I’m from Romania and I’m currently setting up a travel agency that will organize cultural and thematic tours in Türkiye.
My company will be based in Romania, but I expect to travel to Türkiye regularly to coordinate logistics with hotels, local partners, and service providers.
Most trips would be around 5–7 days, with an estimated total stay of around 60–70 days within a 180-day period.
I previously studied in Istanbul and had a student residence permit, but now I’m unsure whether this kind of frequent short-term business travel is usually fine under the standard 90/180 visitor rule, or whether people in similar situations ended up needing an ikamet/residence permit.
Has anyone here had a similar experience working in tourism or international business?
Thanks a lot!
