Just finished and I am grinning ear to ear

I loved Requiem and am enjoying Pragmata, but as a huge Bond fan I feel confident calling this my game of the year so far. The combat is beautifully fluid, and although I found the boss fights a bit mechanically annoying, the set pieces were awesome. I also enjoy how they reworked the Hitman climbing and ledge traversal for Bond, it's still basically the same, but it feels better imo.

- Spoiler Warning for the Next Sentence -

The Gun Barrel Shot at the end, with "James Bond Will Return" as an homage to the movies really did it for me though. Hopefully the business side allows IO to make a sequel because I think they have already mastered the feel, and if they got a chance with a slightly older Bond... that'd be potentially scary good.

- End Spoiler Warning -

Not a perfect game, but it felt like a love letter to the series in the sort of smaller details, and that gave me the fanservice sentiments that really sold me on the new original story. My only complaint is that my 3060 was really not in a good spot during certain parts of the game, and I think the games that have come out this year are quickly forcing me to consider an upgrade.

Grid of a Newer Player

Best Story: I don't know if I can say RE1 is the absolute best in the series, but I like how it sets up most of the characters and storylines that get built upon up to RE5. It's simpler, and the two campaigns don't do as good a job as RE2 at playing off of one another, but it does a great job at laying the groundwork for everything after.

Biggest Personal Impact & Overhated: I put RE6 there because it was the first RE game that I finished. It being essentially an action game helped me slowly ease my way into the full-blown horror side of the series. It's also like a 6-7/10, and people rank it like a 1 or 0/10, which has always seemed like an aggressive overstatement. It's bad by RE standards but I've definitely played worse, less enjoyable games.

Underrated: I absolutely loved Village, I see people put it as low as C or even D tier somewhat regularly and that is just crazy to me.

Overrated: I wanted to like Revelations, the setting is awesome, but I just found it to be boring compared to how many talk about it. Impressive for a 3DS, good setting, not a particularly interesting game imo though. The scanning gimmick is also one of my least favorite ways of implementing a scanner.

Not Usually My Thing, But..: I like the idea of the Fixed Cam, but it's just not really my preferred way to immerse myself in a game. That said, RE1R looks absolutely fantastic and is nothing if not a really polished and iconic game.

Nostalgic Childhood Game: I know it's not RE, but as a new fan, I'm not nostalgic for any of the games yet. So, I thought it'd be fun to mix in a game I am nostalgic for from my childhood.

Favorite Musical Theme: I didn't want to do soundtracks, so I figured I'd highlight The Drive as I love that track and it's the only one that I really listen to outside of the games.
