New tires

Background: bought a gravel/CC bike way way back, think ~13 years ago. Rode it quite a bit back then. Fell into deep depression and didn't ride for at least 10 years.

I finally got back into it, I've been riding quite a bit. I enjoy it. I bought the type of bike that I did because of the area I lived back then, wanted something kinda.. Multi-use. Where I'm currently living, I'm riding like 80-95% on asphalt. Rest on various gravel/foresty paths, not much but some. So the type of bike isn't entirely inappropriate I guess.

I'm not investing in new tires immediately. It's only after I've convinced myself I can ride again, for an extended period of time. It's a bit of a reward thing. If I can ride for a month or two straight, I could do a big quality of life increase for myself. I've understood that upgrading the tires could be the biggest upgrade I could make. The bike came with these Kenda Kwicker (622-37) tires. Which I assume kinda suck, honestly. Especially on asphalt.

I did some quick research, Continental Urban Contacts look good? Would those be a big upgrade? Would they work considering the types of terrain I ride on? Or should I look at something else, wear out the current tires and see about it next year?
