PSA: Your car's skill multiplier raise perk, caries over to story missions.
As you can see I can get the x8.0 from my Mazda RX-3 FE. I think other perks like extra life work as well but I'm not 100% sure.
Probably an unintentional bug but nice to have if you have a mission where you need to raise skill points.
