I am living in Japan for few years now and realized just now that with a Shinkansen ticket you can free ride JR lines before and after (within city of departure or arrival) the Shinkansen🚅

For example from Kyoto to Tokyo and then to Shibuya, only need one Shinkansen ticket… 🤯
Keep in mind you need to transfer within the « JR transfer gate » that’s it !
