How to let them go?
I have been fostering for about a year now. I have had many fosters, only failing once and keeping one. I currently have 2 of my own cats and that’s my limit.
My question is- how do you let them go? Of course not all of them are as hard to let go, but every now and then I get one and I find it very hard to let them go. I find myself thinking will they have as good of a home as they have with me? Will they get the love and attention they get with me? And so on. The rescue I foster with puts their cats in PetSmart in the cat suites when a kennel is available to increase their exposure and get them adopted quicker. I honestly dread when the rescue organizers send a message saying they’re ready to move the cat to PetSmart because I feel so bad for the cats. They’ve been at my house living their best lives looking out the window, lounging in the sun, zooming around my house and so on. Then they go to PetSmart and they’re confined to a kennel.
I foster through a reputable rescue in our city and I know they have the cats best interests in mind but I guess I still worry they won’t go to as good of a home, plus being in PetSmart makes me sad for them too. Any advice?
