Work forcing deductible on work uniform when you quit
Hey guys, got a weird one a colleague who recently quit was advised that $XX amount would be taken away from their full payout when they quit.
It’s just PPE that was required at the construction company which has the company brand on it. This uniform was told to all of us that we need to wear while working.
I’ve looked on fair work and it seems that this is unlawful and that amount should be returned to said person and if they refuse it can be escalated to the work ombudsman for a case so the correct amount gets returned to said worker.
Has anyone come across this situation?
