MC, 22, moved into the home of her new husband this very morning. Their relationship blossomed through gestures of respect, attentive care and mutual support.

Mr MC, 28, grew up orphaned since the tender age of 11. He returned to his ancestral home after many years, bracing himself to open the locked, dusty rooms his beloved late mother once inhibited. He recalled sitting by her feet as she read to him.

Secret States

I have a suggestion for the character cards in the author portal.

Can we have a Secret State tab where the author can create hidden background or information on select characters, only to be revealed when certain conditions are met?

For example, in Character X's card, the secret is he stole a diamond necklace. The reveal condition would be if the player sneaked away during a dinner party to be nosey. Crap example, but it's off the top of my head.

I have no idea how realistic it would be to implement, but I am tired of correcting the ai to not reveal certain background information on an NPC or LI. Despite having written direct instructions into the story direction, the episode directions, AND the scene directions, it still spills the beans willy nilly. I have even tried using the values to not reveal certain information until a relationship or friendship level reaches > 80, but it still reveals everything in the first couple of interactions.

Question Dump

I have been really inspired by an author on Glimmer to write my own version of their story. Not as a rip off, but as a more gritty, realistic side of the marriage mart in the Regency era, using different characters and different plots, but they really inspired me so I want to ask if it's okay to create it. I have messed around with the author portal and got up to the end states of Episode 2, and I wouldn't dream of publishing anything without the authors go-ahead. Does anyone know how to direct message an author (I don't do discord or social media)?

Second question: if I do go ahead and write it properly, what are the chances the ai will stick to the darker side of regency life? For instance, if I push the narrative that marriage for a woman is a complete legal erasure and she could be subjected to a cruel husband who has all legal rights over her body, property and fortune, will the ai make the prose sound like this is an amazing opportunity for the MC? Basically, should I even bother writing the darker side of life if the ai is going to veto it?

Third: Does anyone think I should include a nasty LI? So far I have the obligatory rake, the childhood softy friend and the mysterious Lord. I wan thinking of two royal brothers, one being a wanker and the other a sweetheart.

Author help

Hello all. I am seriously considering writing my own story on glimmer and I am stumped. I'm very new to AI and I know there is an author portal on discord, but discord is too noisy for my ASD brain.

So, I have a couple of questions for those of you who are smart enough to have published your own stories.

On the MC description, I want the surname to be set, but the player chooses their own first name. If I write the MCs surname in the description and background section, will it just call them that in the prose, or will it use the player's selected name?

If I do write her surname, which bit do I put it in?

Last question, still with the MC background, do I write her family dynamic in the Relationships section?

If anyone can help, I will be forever grateful 🫶

AI instructions

Back when V3 was around, it kinda irritated me that the soft love interests of V2 were suddenly behaving like possessive s*x addicts.

So now, when I have a story saved that was halfway through when we got hit by V2 5, the reverting of the LIs to their soft selves mid-story is rather jarring. But I honestly miss the intensity of V3 as it gave great opportunity for drama and angst, rather than the empathetic Mary sue MC I seem to have now despite my efforts to add some grit.

Are there any specific instructions I can input to have the AI remember and implement the characterisations from the V3 half of the story?

Anyone else having problems?

I've just tried buying more undos and it has been sat spinning for 2 whole minutes. I have closed out and cleared the cache four times already, but to no avail.

I have money in my bank, and the app itself is working just fine. It just won't go to the purchase finalisation page.

I don't like it when player autonomy is taken away, or the story forces you into a choke point, but I will forgive its obvious attempt to sway my decision lol

(Please forgive the cringe fest that is the AI prose. I s2g if I read benediction one more time...)
