[iOS] [$4.99 → Lifetime Free] Cove — Focus App Blocker

Hi everyone! 👋

I launched Cove yesterday, and I’m offering free lifetime access to celebrate the launch.

Cove is a simple focus app blocker. Pick the apps you want to avoid, start a focus session, and Cove helps keep those apps locked until your session is over.

If you really need to, you can still stop the session yourself. There’s also a temporary 3-minute unlock option for quick access.

No ads.

No subscriptions.

No extra payments.

Just lifetime access.

----------------------------------------

🎁 500 free lifetime access spots

To unlock it:

  1. Download and open Cove
  2. Go through the first setup
  3. Enter COVEFOUNDER on the access screen

+ They’ve all been used, so here’s an additional offer code: COVEFOUNDER5555

  1. Once it’s unlocked, it’s yours for free.

----------------------------------------

There are 500 spots available for this launch giveaway.

If you find Cove useful, an App Store review would mean a lot. It really helps a new app get discovered.

I’ll keep improving Cove based on user feedback, and widgets are already planned for an upcoming update.

Thanks for checking it out!

+ If you’d like to share Cove with friends or a local community, feel free to DM me. I can create a separate access code to make it easier for people to claim the giveaway.

I’m also planning to add more languages, so feedback from different regions would be really helpful.

Two Weeks In: Thank You for All the Support

Two weeks ago, I launched my Pomodoro app, and since then, so many of you have downloaded it.

The recent spike in downloads seems to have come from the app being shared in a community, which brought in a lot of new users at once.

I honestly couldn’t have gotten this far without your support. I’ve also received a lot of helpful feedback and encouragement through messages, and I really appreciate it.

The app was free for the first two weeks, but as of about five hours ago, it’s now a paid app.

I’m a little nervous to see whether people will still download it now that it’s paid, but I’m also excited to keep improving it.

Right now, I’m working on updates based on user feedback. A few people mentioned that they’d love to use it on Apple Watch too, so I’m planning to explore that for the next update.

I’ll keep sharing updates as things move forward. As always, feedback is more than welcome!

My small timer app is close to 1.5K downloads a little over a week after launch

Hi everyone,

It’s been a little over a week since I launched my app, and it’s now getting close to 1.5K downloads.

It’s a simple timer app, so nothing groundbreaking, but I shared it on Reddit and Threads and, thankfully, a lot of people seemed to like it.

I also noticed some traffic from App Store recommendations. Around that time, I saw a spike in downloads from a specific country, which was really interesting to see.

I launched on iOS first, and quite a few people asked for an Android version. The Android review was approved yesterday, and the app is now available on Android too.

Since this is still the early launch stage, the app is currently free to download. My plan is that anyone who downloads it now will be able to keep using it for free.

I’m really happy that people are enjoying it, but at the same time, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little nervous. Part of me wonders if people like it mainly because it’s free. 🥶

For now, my focus is on stabilizing the app and improving it based on user feedback. After that, I’m planning to switch to a paid model with a one-time purchase for lifetime access.

I know these numbers may not sound huge to some people, but they mean a lot to me.

I’ll keep sharing updates as I go. Thanks for reading, and if anything feels off or could be improved, I’d really appreciate your feedback.

1K downloads in the first week for my small iOS Pomodoro app

Hi everyone,

I recently shared my iOS timer app on Reddit.

It’s honestly just a simple Pomodoro timer, but I’m really grateful that a lot of people seemed to like it. It reached around 1K downloads in the first week. That might not be a huge number to some people, but for me, it feels very meaningful. 🥳

I know the number is probably inflated because the app is currently free, and I also think I got lucky. Still, it’s been really encouraging.

I’ve been trying to build this in public by sharing the app, listening to feedback, and improving it step by step. For example, someone mentioned that widgets would be useful, so I added them.

One thing I’m working on now is the English copy. English isn’t my first language, so I’ve been using translation tools, but a few people told me that some parts still sound a little unnatural to native speakers. I’m planning to improve that today. 🔥

The app is free right now, but I’m considering making it a paid app later. Anyone who downloads it during this launch period will be able to keep using it for free.

I’ve also heard suggestions about using an in-app purchase for a lifetime unlock, but for this app, I want to try the paid-upfront model instead.

There’s still a lot to improve, so I’ll keep updating it based on feedback.

Also, I’m still learning the rules and culture of this subreddit, so if anything about this post feels off, please let me know and I’ll fix it.

Thanks for reading. I’m rooting for everyone building solo.

[iOS] [Free Lifetime Launch Giveaway] Ollie Timer — a cute Pomodoro timer app

Ollie Timer is a cute Pomodoro timer app for people who want a simple way to stay focused.

The app is built around Ollie, a small adorable character who makes focus sessions feel more friendly and fun.

It’s currently free as a launch giveaway, and anyone who downloads it now will keep lifetime access for free.

+ I’m still new to this subreddit, so I might get some things wrong.
If anything feels inappropriate or against the rules, please let me know. I’ll be happy to fix it.

I recently launched a new app.

I recently launched a new app.

It’s just another Pomodoro timer app — nothing groundbreaking.

But surprisingly, people seem to like it more than I expected.

I shared the process on my personal social media as part of building in public, and more than 200 people downloaded the app from that post alone.

Right now, most of the users are from my own country, so I haven’t had enough chances to properly test the English version yet.

The app is free in the early stage, but I’m planning to turn it into a paid app soon.

Honestly, I’m not sure how far I can take such a simple timer app.

But there might be some people who are interested, so I’ll share more updates next time.

I got 7,000 users in a month with $0 marketing. Here’s how I did it

Hi everyone,

My first post here got a much better response than I expected. A lot of people congratulated me, and quite a few asked how I did it, so I wanted to share a follow-up.

First, here are the numbers.

The iOS version has been out for a little over a month, and the Android version has been live for about two weeks.

Right now, the app has around 7,000 users, and the week 1 retention is about 30%.

It’s a community-style app, and it’s currently only available in the country where I live.

Here’s how I approached it.

I spent zero dollars on marketing.

The only channel I used was Threads, where I built in public.

I don’t think follower count mattered much in the beginning. When I first started posting, I had only around 22 followers. Now I’m getting close to 5,000.

At first, I posted something like:

“I have this idea. Would anyone be interested?”

The reaction was pretty cold.

People said things like:

“This already exists.”

“Just use AI.”

There were quite a few negative responses.

But I saw the fact that people were reacting at all as a good signal.

So I moved fast.

I quickly built a rough Flutter app prototype in about two hours, then posted again.

That post ended up getting around 1 million views and went viral.

Launched a little over a month ago, and we’re about to hit 7,000 users!

I launched my app a little over a month ago, and it’s now close to reaching 7,000 registered users.

I’m honestly really happy about it.

It’s a community-style app, and the only monetization I’ve added so far is AdMob. I haven’t spent anything on marketing.

Just wanted to share this small milestone with the community!
